They have already visited ND. Good kid on and off the field. Dad likes ND, so does son.

If UGA and Ohio State offer, it will be a race.

Daniels' teammate Evan Spencer, another WR, has some Big Ten offers and ND is looking at him as well. Son of Chicago Bear RB coach Tim Spencer, a former Buckeye.

Daniels made an unofficial to ND in '09 for the USC game.

As did J.R. Ferguson's dad, supposedly!?!

Papa Ferguson's dad LOVED ND, and wanted his son here. We were a real player, but in the end, Ego said it was too cold, and decided on LSU, who did a great job of recruiting him and had the coaching stability throughout the process that allowed him to build great relationships with their coaches (too bad that if Miles continues to monumentally blow late games so blatantly that it looks like he has money on other team that old Les will be shown the door).

Let's hope Daniels will give ND a fair shot...

According to my source, Ego Sr. loved ND, and wanted J.R. to go there. J.R. wanted to go to FSU, which Sr. was against. So they decided in the end to throw a curve ball and choose LSU.

Not only is EGO a different story, these guys Daniels and Spencer play in Chicago, it's basically the same kind of weather.

I have no idea what Ferguson has to do with Daniels. Lots of parents of recruits like ND, but the kid signs somewhere else. So what.

Daniels is probably going to be Illinois' top rated player. They are waiting for offers from Alabama and Texas, which any good player would probably want, but on top of that there is the UGA connection with Phillip Daniels to Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp.

The good thing here is that ND is close to home and offers the education, and DaVaris' mother is reportedly keen on both.

6'3" w/ 4.4 40 speed and a good vertical, if he has any ball catching ability at all, which coach wouldn't want him?! Hopefully, BK and the other coaches can persuade him to go Irish!

1/25 JC Shurburtt reports

DaVaris Daniels - Big 12 Blog - ESPN

(Notre Dame assistant coach Chuck Martin) was talking about how Coach Kelly has never really had real wide receivers, people that have always played that position, but transferred over and he made that work. He showed he can do it with people that had to learn the receiver spot, imagine what he could do with you.
Daniels said.

I hope we land this kid but Rivals believes that if Georgia offers they would be tough to beat

Davaris Daniels hoped to make his college decision during his senior season. After a junior day visit to Notre Dame, the receiver could be off the market next month. That could be big news for the Irish.

Notre Dame is my number one,” DaVaris Daniels said. “After that I’m pretty open.” Daniels attended the Irish Junior Day on March 20. “I loved the whole vibe there. It was great. I was there for the USC game last season when Charlie Weis was coach and it was very different. He seemed very chill and it didn’t feel like there was a lot of urgency back then. Coach Kelly is totally different..."

Hopefully we can pull him in. We need to lock him in before anyone can compete.

Just watched all 3 years of his promo tapes, and I actually found myself rooting for him. I dont think I have ever rooted for a kid in a HS promo tape. Also, I dont know wether I'd like him more as a reciever or FS...... oh well that one's not my decision (I'd be happy with both), but I definitely want him in the Blue and Gold!
