The son of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, he's on the verge of making a major name for himself in a completely different sport. On Film–He backed up Nick Montana last season but I was able to get some film on Trevor from his coach Bill Redell. He shows very good arm strength, great vision, and surprising speed. A very good all around athlete, he plays in one of the top offensive programs in the country. He is smart and an expert at reading defenses going through progressions and is one of the more accurate passers in southern California. Big things will be expected of him this season

im gonna be honest i didnt want to make this comparison but its true he reminds me of clausen just bigger and faster:

They share the same toughness he's father played hockey and he played hockey his self, Both have fairly strong arms, same release, trevors just a faster and a little bigger. I hate to make this comparison because hes just a junior and there isnt that much hype surronding him, but if you watch the tape he plays just like clausen.

No need to worry about his being lanky. His dad just needs to go out and spend some of that money he has and hire the worlds "smartest man". If anyone out here knows him, tell Wayne to go out and hire mbecka to train his son and he will, not only be the strongest athlete in the world, but he will also be the smartest.

Trevor Gretzky's the second player in this article. Despite an interest in baseball and football, ala Tate, Maust, Shark, etc I see no connection with the Irish. Whenever I see schools of interest with this kid, ND is not one of them. Unless something develops next Fall, I don't think there's interest by either party.

[Baseball] will be a big part of the decision-making process," Gretzky said. "I'll probably pick a school for football and see if they let me play baseball. We'll just have to see what happens."
As expected, the programs showing interest in Gretzky early on are schools with a football and baseball reputation.
"I'm receiving interest from UCLA, Arizona State and Miami," Gretzky said. "I'm going down to ASU in the next two weeks, so we'll see what happens. I've talked to a couple of other schools, but I'm just really focused on my senior year right now. He was a bad hockey player. He went to shattuck st mary's (maybe the top hockey prep school in the US) as a Freshman and was not highly regarded so he transfered out and I assume gave up hockey.

I was listening to The Dan Patrick Show (best of) and there was an interview with Wayne Gretzky. They were talking about going to the ND-SC game. Wayne then mentioned that his son may be playing for Notre Dame and is in contact with one of the coaches (Elston?).

I hope ND doesn't offer. We didn't get the QB we wanted in this class and we have enough QB's there already. I'd skip on offering a QB this year and press hard next year for a QB.
