According to ISD, we are his early #1. Never a bad place to be!! Plus both of his parents are really excited about it, so that is a good sign as well.

Front page of ISD has a story on Brad. I can't read it, since I am not a premium member.

Big DE. This kid is Irish unless OSU enters the race. Dublin is too close to Cbus.... losing out on Mike Adams and that big TE(cant remember name off top of head) back in '07 i believe sucked nuts. Adams is a beast at OT.

Carrico got an offer from Brian Kelly and Cinncinati in Sept of '09, his first offer. In October he visited UC's campus.

In 2010 he attended a Jr Day at Michigan (no offer) and made an unoffical visit to ND for the big recruiting weekend on 1/29.

Jacob Stoneburner? It was 08 the year we got Rudolph so I'm ok with that. Would be nice if Dublin Coffman became a pipeline school for us. I know that's hard with OSU right in there backyard.

This is another prospect who might change positions. Two recruiting services list him as a DE another as a OT. Here's what Carrico said about what position he'll play in college in a September 30, 2009 article on him by nbesports.com:

“I’m not really sure,” replied Carrico when asked of expected college position. “I play DE right now but see myself putting on weight and playing DT or any position on the OL.”

With September being the first month college coaches could offer scholarships to the class of 2011, Carrico picked up one right off the bat, confirming his status as one of the top prospects in the region in the class, with other top programs keeping a close eye on his progress.
“I have an offer from Cincinnati,” said Carrico. “I favor Cincinnati, Michigan, Purdue, Michigan State, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Kansas, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.”
Carrico has seen his share of those on his list as well, taking previous unofficial visits to unofficals to Cincinnati, Purdue, Illinois, Pitt, Michigan and he plans on going to Michigan State, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Kansas and West Virginia between now and his senior season.

He got his first offer from Kelly and visited Cinncinati while Kelly and Company were coaching there. No introductions needed here.

Scout.com: Carrico Loves Irish Campus

“Notre Dame is definitely No. 1 on my list,” Brad Carrico stated. “I know the coaches really well. I’ve had a great relationship with them since they were at Cincinnati. They are good people. Good coaches with good character.” He believes that Brian Kelly is the right man to lead the Irish back to glory. “He did great at Cincy and I think that’ll carry over. I like coach Kelly a lot and he’s..."

I was just looking at his 40 and shuttle time, and those are some pretty good numbers based on his height and weight. Seems to be an athletic kid! Excited that we have a great shot here...

He has a 3.3 GPA and plans on taking the ACT in April. He plans to enroll early.

In the weight room he's increased his Bench by 30 pounds to 340 and his Squat by 35 pounds to 475. He's got a 27 inch vertical jump.

Scout has ND as his leader.

The hs program he is from is one of the most well coached in the state, this year they beat glenville to win the div 1 state championship in ohio. glenville was probably the most talented team in the history of ohio and coffman outcoached and outplayed them! he will be a great fit at ND!

Impressive!! Just his stats alone are pretty sweet. The fact he comes from a good school such as Coffman and is interested in enrolling early is all gravy!!
Lets hope we can keep his attention!!

Of all the guys at today's Jr. Day, the consensus among ND's recruitniks is that if anyone commits, it will be Carrico. There's already rumors floating around on 2 sites that he committed already, which I haven't found any confirmation of that, and it's just some random posters saying that, so I'd take that info with a grain of salt. But he definitely is on campus right now...

EDIT: Nevermind, Carrico just committed to ND per ISD. Welcome aboard kid!!!!!!

ScoutingOhio.com which specializes on Ohio kids has Carrico's wt at 270 rather than the 255 we show. IF that's accurate he could well arrive on campus in the summer of '11 at OT playing wt.

I think he plans on enrolling early. Still, he's a big, athletic kid.

South Bend Tribune has a story already on him....
South Bend Tribune: Notre Dame football: Carrico buys into Kelly's vision for ND

Biggest thing that popped out at me is, well other than he is committed:

Today, he's 6-6 and 270 and, while he has the body to play offensive tackle, Notre Dame projects him as a defensive end. He describes himself as a player who uses his strength to beat guys, but one who also can beat blockers with speed.

Good Stuff, hope this starts off a great class...GO IRISH!!
