Tai-ler jones is one of his good friends, and was one of the only reasons he ever considered Stanford. Tai-ler was his roomate at ua all american game, and he talked him into being interested notre dame.

So good thing Tai-ler is helping us out.

Per ISD, he's very good friends with Tailer Jones, and Jones got him interested in ND recently. Jones also told the new staff about him, and he's been in contact with Alford, who said he really liked his film. Alford is going to look into his grades and everything else before offering (shouldn't be in issue).

He's a great kid. Steve Wiltfong interviewed him, and wow, he's everything we'd want in a ND student-athlete. I wish I could link you to the article (subscription), because with all the things his family has been through, it's great that he has such a great attitude. Alford noticed how great a kid he was just from his phone conversation.

He's committed to Tennessee, but he's very interested in what ND has to say/offer. He's willing to give ND a shot, because of what ND can do for him education-wise (as well as being on TV every single Saturday, which he also said was a plus LOL).

ISD likes ND's chances here...

Wow! This is amazing! I watched the UA All-America game, and I saw this guy win his team MVP, while Dunkley won for the Black team. I remember being SO impressed at what he said... He spoke about academics, passions, etc. He was much more well-spoken than Dunkley was, and I remember thinking to myself... "Shoot! I wish we could of gotten this guy." And I think I silently said some 4-letter words about Lane Kiffin afterwards.

So happy we got a shot at him! Thank you Tai-ler!!

Sweet. Think there is any chance he plays safety? Being that we are kinda light back there next season and that he is only 205 lbs and runs a 4.5

Those are some really friggin impressive stats. HOpefully we land this kid. Hell im still pissed about Ben Martin and Chris Donald to be honest, not to mention Oliver, who well, after his legal issues, im glad it didnt pan out so well for us..... it would just be nice to give a little love back to tennessee.

Could be. I was about to post that he may be a safety candidate when I saw your post.

He's listed with a combine 3 cone test of 7.20, that's the agility test used for DBs. His time is good for CBs! His shuttle time of 4.37 is good also.

This is quite the developing story since the UA game isn't it? There seems to be some uneasiness in the lbs and safeties we wanted and the staff is making efforts to protect itself. If this kid is a backup plan, he is a fantastic backup plan.

That's wonderful....Let's deem them all failures because they haven't lived up to "your" expectations.

Ummmm, yes, Crum too.

Let me say this: Crum and Smith being subpar bares absolutely nothing whatsoever on how Taylor will do in college. Besides, Taylor is originally from San Diego anyway.

As for Crum, he is first and foremost a fantastic human being. He represented everything that is right about ND students. Go look up his biography and you'll see what I mean. But as for football....he was a 3 year starter on bad defenses. And watching him play, he simply wasn't very good. Serviceable maybe, but not what I have in mind for a middle linebacker. He was just too slow. Go watch Te'o play. Even as a freshman, he is EVERYWHERE, and has a natural nose for the ball. Plus he's very quick and hits like a truck. Crum, like T-Smith, just didn't get to the holes quick enough, and they get majorly exposed in coverage (Te'o does too, but he's a freshman).

In 2008 SC had 4 (!!!) linebackers that could all run to the ball and hit. Crum and Smith (and B Smith as well) just don't have the type of God-given (and Steroid-given) talent that those LBs had...

Sorry I meant MORRICE Richardson not Mo Crum. But, I don't think I ever said they were failures. I think alot of people were high on these guys coming out of hs. Richardson played in his first game against Ga Tech, so naturally we all assumed he would be half decent. However, I don't recall Richardson seeing the field this year. But I do remember a freshman starting over Toryan Smith. I believe that most people that follow ND football would agree with me when I say they didn't contribute like we thought they would. So, why don't you go criticize someone else pal.

First off, with all due respect, I'm not your pal.

Secondly, you're basing an entire recruiting area based on the output of two young men who've given their all to Our Ladies University??? Kids that have done everything right...done well in class. Kept their noses clean out in the community... You stay classy, Son....

But please, carry on.

First of all, thanks for all that respect.

Secondly, I'm talking about them as football players. I don't know them personally. Do you? I don't know why you think I'm bashing them.

I wouldn't exactly call your original statement a ringing endorsement of the young men. Do I know them personally, no. Are they good football players, yes. Have they given their all to the University, yes. Have they been good members of the community, yes.

So, why would you have a problem recruiting LB's out of GA??? They seem to fit every criteria we look for in a ball player.

I don't. I was just merely stating a thought that came into my head. This guy clearly can ball if he's committed to UT right now. I didn't even look at his profile. Relax sir. I didn't mean for you to pull the "young men giving their all to our lady's university" card hahahahahah.
