Honestly how can people think Notre Dame will go 10-2 or 11-1? I know the weak schedule but come on guys.. lets be realistic. I think ND will lose 4 games next year. Your not going to be in a BCS bowl next year. Face it- your not. 2 years- maybe. 3 years- Definately. 4 years-Maybe National Championship Contender. By then Kelly will have recruited talent.
I know you've already been warned by another mod, but let me explain a bit further. First of all, don't come on another team's board when you don't know a damn thing about the other team. You look foolish.
1. I mean, you talk about schedules as if our schedule is weak. Ummmm, you're S.O.S this year was 27th. Ours was 31st. If ours was weak, then so was yours. And next year? You bring in such stalwarts like Akron, UAB, and Memphis. That goes along with Kentucky, Vandy, and an overrated South Carolina team. I give you credit for Oregon (and watch them spank your asses from here to Ohio). So you have 6 guaranteed wins...that is, if you had a QB and your team wasn't Tennessee.
2. There is plenty of talent already here. The problem wasn't talent. Take a look at the recruiting rankings over the past 5 years, and compare the classes of Tennessee and Notre Dame. Not even close. Hell, go look at Dayne Crist's class, you know, the 5 star recruit that you've never heard of who is 20 x's better than that QB you rolled out this year. That year, ND had the top ranked class. That same year, TENNESSEE WASN'T EVEN IN THE TOP 25. And that class will be redshirt sophs and juniors this year. The talent is there, and now there is a coach with a proven track record of developing talent on board. Not worried,
Oh, and I know you'll come back with "We have the best recruiting staff in the nation now". Well, that's not the point, we're talking about mature talent ready to play now. Oh, and you have the dirtiest group of recruiters out there, not the best. Your boy Lane is racking up violations by the minute. Yeah, he's doing it by design, but he's still an embarrassment. It's sad when Al Davis starts looking like the good guy in their divorce LOL.
3. It's 'you're', not your. Sorry, pet peeve. I teach 5th graders and I try to pound that in their brains, and if they can get it, you can too.
4. Not sure how many games we'll win; I haven't predicted yet and I won't b/c I want to see the changes we make in the staff, the recruiting class, and how things shake out on the spring game. But this is a ND board with ND fans. Of course many are going to predict an inflated number of wins. Go read your boards at the beginning of the year and see what those idiots were saying about your team. You had guys thinking 9-10 wins was not only possible, but probable. NO ONE predicted losses to teams like UCLA. Yes, losing 4 games is a possibility, but so is losing one or 2. It's all possible.
***Most importantly, this isn't a Rivals, Scout, or ESPN board. Those boards are open forums where fans from other schools visit teams' boards and the smack talking commences. This isn't one of those boards. This is an ND board, for ND fans. Fans of other teams are welcome, but only to help in the discussion. I love smack talk as much as the next guy, but it's not for here. There was a cincy fan giving great insight during the whole Kelly saga, there's a couple Michigan fans that stop by, but they're OK because they don't come to talk sh!t, they come just to talk football.
You're doing the opposite. You're talking shit about the ND team, schedule, etc. We don't want to bash trolls here...it takes too much time and it's not worth it. So, if you want to flame, go to IrishIllustrated or IrishEyes or the ESPN sites. If you want to do it here, you'll be canned.
