I hate ND's OOC schedule. Every year Brey plays a bunch of pasties with one or two names on the schedule. How does that prepare ND for the rigors of the Big East? playing Stoney Brook sure gets you ready to lace em up against UCONN. anywho rant over....

Hopefully the Irish can get some mojo going before they run into the Big East. I think this team got a reality check in losing to Northwestern. y

It's gonna be a rough year. 17-14 is my prediction with an NIT invite.

I think if we end up 7 or 8th in the Big East - we get a 10th or 11th seed.

Big East is tougher than previously expected - however, Pitt isn't showing up.

Last year..... Texas, Ohio State, UNC, UCLA non conference. How did that work out. Bottom line is Brey does a good job creating the schedule based on his roster. Last year he had a veteran team so he challenged them non conference. It didnt work out, but you cant blame him for trying.

This year he lost 4 seniors and 3 starters off of last years team. It makes sense to go easy non conference.

Pitt playing good? LOL. Only teams in the Big East that scare me are Syracuse, West Virginia, and Louisville this year. Northwestern plays really really tough defense. We never do good against a team like that. I am expecting us to be top 5 in the Big East this year IF Harrangody stays healthy, and Hansbrough and Ambronits continue to drill 3's

Losing Scott Martin for the year really hurt this team. I have no idea until we get into conference play.

they go easy non conference nearly every year. last year was an exception due to an invite to play out in Maui. People have different ideas for ooc schedules. I am not saying we should go Izzo and play a murderous slate. A non big east schedule with a couple of top 15 opponents and 3 other NCAA teams would be a good recipe. Insert Indiana, Butler, and Purdue this year. It gives a much better resume come NCAA time and tests these guys before conference games begin.

Pitt beats us every year. They own us. Anyway, how can a team like Georgetown not scare you? Or even Cincy for that matter? Take a look at the rankings and keep in mind these are teams that beat us on a consistent basis.

#3 Villanova
#6 W. Virginia
#7 Syracuse
#14 Uconn
#15 Georgetown
#19 Cincy

Oh and Louisville it borderline top 25 and you know we hardly ever beat them. And Pitt has receiving votes as well. I see maybe ONE upset out of all those. Otherwise we dont stand a chance on winning more than 18 games and I'm being GENEROUS!

You are absolutely correct on the teams you listed. They will all be very tough. But I have to disagree with you on Pitt. They usually beat us because they have perennial top ten teams. That is not even close to being the case this year. They lost last night to an Indiana team that is still not very good, one that lost to Boston U, and this is not hockey. I would be very surprised if Pitt went to the Purcell and knocked us off. Also Louisville is very beatable this year. The loss of Scott Martin really hurt, but I still think this is a team that can win 9 or 10 games in the league, and that should get us in. Got to stay healthy though.

I cant really argue because this team is such an unknown. But you realize that UCLA is 2-5 with losses to Cal State Fullerton, Portland, and Long Beach State (who we beat by 20). If you think its going to be a long year in South Bend, go to LA, those fans have to be going nuts.

NDinLA, am I right?

RPI up to 41. The IUPUI win actually did wonders for us because their record is so strong.

LMU 87 Notre Dame 85. This is exactly why I said were gonna go 17-14!!!! If we are losing to teams like this, how do you expect us to do in the Big East? Pitiful.

Lmu was 3-7 before beating us. Keep in mind Lmu lost to teams like: Boise State, Montana, UC Irvine, Tulsa, UC Santa Barbara, Wyoming, AND Montana AGAIN!!!!

The RPI is a joke. How can ND have a higher RPI than Butler? I know they haven't counted in the OSU win, but that is a joke. Sorry guys, but ND basketball is pretty terrible. I'm not even going to pay attention to RPI now.
