perhaps the only justafiable war ever fought in US history. Makes me wish Inglorious Basterds was a true story

I forgot about the Civil War. Though the revolutionary war was admirable and am greatfull it really just boils down to a bunch of rich folk not wanting to pay taxes.

Wow way to make our founding fathers sound like a bunch of greedy bastards. Yes it is true many of them were rich, and spent their own money to help fund the war effort. Many of them lost everything in the war and died broke, so you could have the freedom to voice your opinion.

Thanks to all U.S. military and Intelligence and ND, the next biggest ROTC program behind Navy and Army.

I want Kate Beckinsale.

Thanks to all the men who made the ultimate sacrifice that day.

Anybody else catch the WWII in High Def special on the History channel? Amazing series & incredible footage. I've been a WWII buff for a long time & have seen just about every documentary or educational film ever made on the subject & they all pale in comparison.

first off i was commenting on how ww2 was truly a necessary war as opposed to most wars that are fought over power. secondly it was the civil rights movement of the 60's that truly allowed me to voice my opinions. third before you go and call me a unamerican i love this country and have great respect for many of the founding fathers. There are many reasons why the American Revolution was fought and i am happy that this country exists despite its many faults but it was taxes that got the ball rolling on that movement.

Now you know its offseason. Just warming up for the big showdown with BGIF.

hmmm...and I thought it was the US Constitution that gave everyone their freedoms...and I thought that's why they also referred to the American Revolutionary War as the American War of Independence....Not some radical 60's movement...but I digress....

Yes sir! Just for the record, Finn, I choose to remember and honor those who have served, and are currently serving, every single day...I don't need a holiday or anniversary to remind me to be thankful for those ppl...then again, I am a veteran who has done his fair share of time overseas defending and supporting this country...So when I hear someone rattle off non-sense about "necessary wars", I find that they have NO FREAKIN' CLUE how offensive and degrading that is (not too mention downright disrespectful) to the ones who have given whatever was asked of them...ppl wanna talk about "necessary wars" and then mention the 60's civil rights movement as what really gave them their freedom, then they are in need of a reality check...as a proud vet, I have no problem giving them that...and quite frankly, Finn, I don't need you to tell me how to remember the ones who have died for me, as I know what it's like to lose members of my own MP Company...But I would NEVER....NEVER...say a war was unnecessary becuz then that would be like saying that those soldiers sacrifices were unnecessary (and how disrespectful, degrading and condescending is that??)...and I will continue to speak up on behalf of my fallen brothers-in-arms when I feel their sacrifices have been minimized by some uber-liberal know-it-all (what else would you expect from a liberal? LOLOL)...So thanks for the advice, Finn, but maybe you should try putting yourself in my shoes...ya know, that of guy who takes the military and his country to heart...All Gave Some, Some Gave All...

Stand your ground buddy.

This comment really left me scratchin' my head...Stand his ground? You're telling him to stand his ground AGAINST a former soldier? I'd love to hear you explain what you meant by "Stand your ground buddy"...But until then I'll leave you with this thought:

If you don't want to stand behind our military, please feel free to stand in front of them.

LOL...when I went thru they had just moved the school to Ft. Leonardwood, MO...It is by far and away one of the best (if not the best) training centers in the WORLD.

Scratch your head until you poke a hole in it. But save the histrionics. You sound like a private. I will gladly stand in front of you today my friend. I was standing with a great poster (Jason) with my post.

Thank you for your service brother.

So...wait a minute...are you actually saying you'd rather stand IN FRONT of our military then stand BEHIND them?? And then to take a shot at me..."you sound like a private"...I assure you, I was more than a private...but that being said, at least being a private means you're serving...Have you ever served? or just talked like a smart ass?? Just becuz you've been "neutered", doesn't mean the rest of us lost our sacks...and as for that "other poster", he supports bigots, racists and those who've literally spit upon our troops....So, yeah, you go stand with him, moron...you both have lost all credibility due to your anti-American attitude and rhetoric......By the way...You're Welcome for the freedom....douchebag.
