Have contacted Charlie Weis for an offensive coordinator gig so far, per ESPN.

At least he'll have a job.

Dear God i hope one of those teams are the 49ers. Lord knows we need some type of offensive boost.

I doubt it will be Tampa, in the 1-9 organisations "wisdom" they decided to give Greg Olsen an extension :jawdrop::frenchy:

Don't forget the Chiefs. Todd Haley and Chuckles worked together in New York, as well as Pioli in New England.

Charlie will be highly successful wherever he goes. He's an amazing Pro offensive mind. He's proven that several times.

If CW goes to the Rams, guess where JC is playing next year.

I'm sure Brady Quinn would welcome him.

Take the Bucs of the list, see post #3

Hmm.....having said that we fired our newly signed OC (Jags) just before the season, and we've just demoted our newly signed D'Co (Bates) so maybe we keep the Bucs ON THE LIST:eek::rotflmao:

The bears could certainly use him, Cutler takes too many sacks, he wont last if he doesn't get rid of the ball more quickly or roll out of the ocket to make the dump-pass or throw it away. Charlie could scheme away with the arm strength of Cutler and the bullish RB Forte.

Charlie could likewise be enticed by the Chiefs, not just because they need him but because of the NE connection with Cassle. They never played together but that organization is dumb enough to take him just because of Weis/Brady/Cassle.

Don't think the Redskins are beyond offering Charlie a HC job, either. They will force their options of coordinators for the defense, but coud give him the reigns out of desperation and their complete lack of offensive understanding.

I would love to see him go to the Rams and work with a drafted Clausen and have that RB Jackson to carry some of the load. Jimmy and Weis would also get to continue wearing Gold and Blue, baby.

You may not want to give CW too much credit but Tom Brady certainly gives him tons of credit for helping him become, as you said, one of the greatest qb of all time. For some bizarre reason I'll take his opinion over yours!!!

Browns, Bears, Lions, Chiefs, Patriots have all been mentioned. Throw the Panthers in there. He and John Fox are pretty tight. Also Jake Delhomme is the worst player in the NFL. They need a QB. HELLO? MCFLY?

"Everbody in the stadium knows what play Charlie's going to call!"

"Even Navy's coaches knew what the play was going to be!"

"Fade, fade, fade, punt!"

"The guy never heard of misdirection."

"He never runs the ball."

"Does he know a play besides the Jump Ball?"

Obviously none of those NFL teams read the GameDay Threads or Post Game Threads here.

hahaha this cracked me up. reps.

Hopefully he goes to the browns.... as the head coach. Anything is better than Mangini, and Brady has already said he would like to be coached by him again. Bring in Corwin, win some ball games. The browns will never be my number one team, but at least I could stand to watch them then.

Privately Weis has told people.....

Privately Weis has told people.....

that he is looking forward to going back to the NFL. He is more comfortable there. He loves his Notre Dame kids but feels he has let them down.

Notably he has said he is more respected in the NFL. He never quite felt a part of the college football coaches fraternity. He thinks this is due to "outsiders" who have "done a number on his reputation"

Another item of note:

Days after the Navy game, Weis was never seen so angry behind closed doors having a tirade over comments made by Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo. He was absolutely livid. Weis feels he has gone above and beyond resonable expectations to respect the Naval Academy and he was slapped in the face by the comments. Corwin Brown, taking a stand although told to "let it go" saw nothing to lose and went off in his press conference, though far, far toned down from what Weis said behind closed doors. This is from a player who wished to not be named.

Please stop creating new threads with old information.

Weis told Walters (fanhouse) last week he is more respected in the NFL and will work next year.

Maybe its just me but Charlie could be successful as a college coach somewhere other than Notre Dame.

He'd have more good will elsewhere with 7-5 records and a potent offense.

Yes, I realize the former was already covered but a lot of other things have come out and we cant assume everyone reads every thread. It all tied in. I just gave the summary of the NFL stuff, the Navy stuff has not been publicized.

Did the Navy coach really say anything that shocking...seriously.

Corwin Brown and Tetutla are the reason Weis is getting fired...they were BAD hires and Charlie has to pay bor it with his job.
