Florida or Alabama?

I'm going with our boy Lou Holtz and picking Florida. Why?

Although the teams are evenly matched on defense, Alabama's offense is absolutely inept, anemic, etc. Greg McElroy is a terrible quarterback, their only wide receiver never gets the ball, Mark Ingram will struggle against the likes of Justin Trattou and Brandon Spikes.

Florida, on the other hand, has Tim Tebow, a good quarterback with wheels, a squadron of lightning fast backs with Rainey, Moody, and Demps, a pair of good receivers in Deonte Thompson and Riley Cooper, a stud tight end in Aaron Hernandez, etc.

I'll take Florida in a 24-10 victory.

I'm a poor sport. I want to see Florida lose to get a crack at even courting Meyer again. If Urban turns us down again, I hope they lose em all.

I just don't want to see Teabag win the Heisman - great player... just not the best college football player in 2009. Can't believe that the #1 team in america - with all that talent - wouldn't be there with another of it's 5 star QBs. Gerhart on the other hand - made a 5-7 team into an 8-4 team. Maybe even Colt's turn. He started out with a ton of Ints, however, fixed that problem. Ingrhem would have to run like a wildman Saturday to win it. Spiller is a monster.

I'm rooting for Bama because I hate FL, but FL will win because they are better. Alabama won't be able to score against that defense, not enough to win anyways. Florida's defense is ridiculously good.

I do agree with the previous poster...this game could be another SEC snoozefest that they masquarade as being a great game. Great defenses, yes, but Bama is remedial offensively (as is LSU) with a bad QB, and I expect it to be a defensive game, and not the most fun thing to watch...

Bama wins 7-6. Ingram scores on a 4th and Goal from the 1 running behind Cody who takes out both Trattou and Spikes with under a minute left.

And everyone says its an amazing, tough, SEC game.

Oh and Ingram has 18 carries for 43 yards and that TD and wins the Heisman.

I will never root for Bama to win a title unless they are playing SC... their fans are beyond annoying...
Bama fan-"you haven't won a title in twenty years... you're irrelevant"

I have had that dialogue or something like it far too many times to count... MAJOR step child anger historically on their part...

It will be tough, but I think the game rests on Greg McElroy's shoulders. The two team are pretty evenly matched up on Defense, I'd say Bama has a slight edge at RB(though Auburn did a good job shutting Ingram down).
But passing, no doubt UF has the edge, as Tebow is a threat in the air and on the ground. But McElroy is serviceable and if he can get the ball to Julio Jones a few times early in the game, UF has no choice but to respect the pass.


This is going to be a close game and I'm really looking forward to it.

With Carlos Dunlap being suspended indefinitely, Bama's chances have gone up some, but I still like Tebow to bring Florida through. He's a winner and winners always find a way, a la Vince Young in that amazing NC game in 2005.
