If Stoops doesn't have the job by Tuesday, he won't be coming. I just dont see Stoops going through the postseason meetings and practices at Oklahoma and then flying up to South Bend for an interview.

Thats why I'm hoping hes signed, sealed, and delivered by Monday night. I have faith in Swarbrick to do it. He knows what we want.

Miles was never a serious consideration for Michigan due to a past issue they considered a morals issue.

Herbie's an entertainer, nothing more, nothing less.

I can't imagine Stoops leaving the sweet setup he has now, but stranger things have happened.

Les was getting Saban's experienced players, rode their experience and talent for the first few seasons, and then started to epically fail when he couldn't develop his own players.

Nope its the ship Saban left that gets worse each year even though Miles is still recruiting. Its precisely the coaching. LSU got lucky in a 2 loss year to play for a championship. I would argue that no coach ahs done less with more talent than Les Miles

LSU would have been whipped if they had played anybody but the extremely underutilized and somewhat overrated Ohio State Buckeyes.

They're like 9-3 and going to a January Bowl.

The main problem with LSU is they dont have an experienced starting QB. They live and die with Jefferson.

Stoops managed to get OU to play well this year despite some key injuries. The win over OSU was pretty convincing.

And it's not like our BCS record can get worse...

I've always liked Herbstreit in spite of his Bucknut pedigree. That said, if Stoops ends up at ND, I will lose some respect for Kirk. Even though how he said what he said about Stoops and the ND job could be open to interpretation, I think it was inferred that he was saying Stoops isn't coming. Pretty sloppy reporting.

Yeah I'd say I like Herby a lot because he doesn't show his OSU allegiance too often on set. He's also a good guy off set. I've met him at PSU. Solid guy.

So Bob Stoops didn't say no way; he said neither he or is his agent has been contacted. Stoop denying the ND rumor is no surprise: he's getting his team ready for a bowl game and he probably doesn't want his recruits getting nervous. He may come, he may not (I think he won't). Regardless of what Bob Stoops decides or whether he's even contacted, I wouldn't expect to hear a peep from him until his name is inked on a contract. It would be foolish for him to speak about the situation.

Stoop has said all along that "there's no coaching position open at Notre Dame to talk about". I thought that was classy of him. But I fully expect Stoops, when there is a coaching vacancy, to say "I'm not interested in the coaching positioin open at Notre Dame".
