I have had a blast watching the two of these guys. I would love to have both of them back, but thats selfish, its best for them and their futures if they leave.

But looking at those stats, they didnt deserve to go out like this.

It stinks to see so much talent wasted on a 6-6 team, but I agree it has been awesome to see them (and Floyd) out there.

Absolutely, 1 more year of these 2 would be amazing but sadly it's not going to happen and they'd be stupid not to go to the NFL. Without them, I'm scared to see how many wins we actually might have.

i wish floyd was healthy this year. i have always thought he is a better wr than tate and still think thats the case. however tate is the best athlete that notre dame has had in a long long time.

that kid would be a heisman frontrunner next year if he stayed but i think there is absolutely no chance he stays.

Just a shame these guys hit such an amazing stride this year & had no defense whatsoever to back them. I can't remember the last time we had the absolute pleasure of watching 3 more gifted athletes in South Bend at the same time. No matter how bad a game got you never felt "out of it" as long as you could get that 3 headed monster on the field, anything was possible. My Blue & Gold heart is absolutely breaking.

People Jimmy is not coming back, why do you thing the AD was hugging Jimmy after the game. Because JS knows Jimmy is gone, HELL I don't blame him, why come back to another losing season, I do like Jimmy and I will miss him playing for ND. Golden should also pack his bags for the NFL........

No he wouldn't. Tate isn't sniffing a Heisman at Notre Dame and neither is Jimmy unless we're in the NC hunt.

Tate is among the greatest Notre Dame WRs I've ever seen, it hurts that I can't put him over Brown or Rocket but hes definetly close to the top.

I would probably put him at #1 now. 93 receptions, ~1500 yards, 15+ TDs, and a game to go if we sneak into a bowl game. How is that going to be matched!?

I just cant do it just yet.

You gotta also remember that this has been our most productive era of passing in years, if not ever at Notre Dame. If you put Rocket or Tim Brown at receiever under Weis and with Jimmy they would be dominate also.

Tate has truly been amazing.

Couldn't agree more. My dad and I sat here at my house comparing and contrasting Brady-WR corp....vs.......Jimmy-WR corp...... It's a no contest, Jimmy had more to work with all at once.

That said, I'm going to miss these kids if they ultimately decide to leave.

Point taken, but the OL has been so weak, it's amazing Jimmy and Golden got the stats they did.

I was about to post something questioning that post.

But now that I think about it, I think Golden Tate is the greatest player of the last 15 years at Notre Dame.

If we had a good coach who could've utilized him even more, Golden's numbers would've been amazing. Golden could've started at RB for us, heck he could've played some defense.
