I drank beers at CJs with Pat Kuntz...it was fun as hell. Took pictures with him too. Christ Stewart and Golden Tate were there also. Oh and I bought Luke Harangody a beer and chugged it with him, all in the same night too. Not bragging but.......wait yes I am! It was awesome!

Jimmy was leaving after having dinner with his parents, no word on whether his brother(s) were with them. He wasn't in any bar fight, he had left, was outside headed to the car, guy called his name, he turned, and got clocked.

He did not retaliate, b/c he isn't an asshole, he isn't a shit-starter, he isn't just another cocky S.O.B. Jimmy left with his folks. It was a cocky, irate fan that hit him.

What hasn't been reported on ESPN, or pay sites, as of yet, was whether it was a UCONN or ND fan. The way they report it you are to assume its an ND fan mad about the loss, but there are no facts o this yet.

Thanks for the info, but just to clarify - where did you come across this? Did you know someone who was there? I'm not trying to question what you said, but there have been so many rumors, that it would be nice to label one as credible

well from everything ive seen clausen is a cocky s.o.b.
the guy probably said something about him or weis or nd related, and jimmy probably said something stupid back.
no need for this at all.

I agree I mean look where he made his descision to where he was gonna play ball. The hall of fame if you dont know. But he will be back as long as charlie will be there, so 2010 National Champs. And all you downers about jimmy and charlie leaving, im glad you're not their agents!

Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was punched in the face by an irate fan outside a South Bend restaurant early Sunday morning and has a swollen eye, a person briefed on the incident said on Monday.

That person said Clausen was "sucker-punched" by a fan as he left an establishment after having dinner with his parents.

The fan allegedly said something to Clausen and/or a female acquaintance.

A South Bend police spokesman said that no police reports were filed over the weekend involving Clausen, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The newspaper also reported that the name of the bar was CJ's and that a bartender at the establishment said that Clausen had been there with family members and other Irish upperclassmen after Notre Dame's loss to Connecticut on Senior Day.

The source told ESPN.com that the injury is not expected to keep Clausen from playing this weekend against Stanford.

I read that, but it seemed like he had a more inside perspective on the matter with the way he described it.

Technically Zibby probably couldn't punch someone in public like that because He has fought in 1 fight that I know of that is considered professional boxing and I could be wrong about this but Professional boxer's hands are considered a "registered weapon" so if Zibby punched some dude at a bar he could get in deep shit. Thats why so many boxers have constant body guard patroling with them, because they cant realy fight back. Thats what I ve heard atleast, i could be wrong. It would still be awesome if Zibby did lay this dude out tho.

Errrrr I think it'd be OK if Zibby fought in self defense...

Zibby self defending... himself is one thing. It's not self defense if some guy cold cocks one of your friends in the eye and then leaves it at that. There is no fear that he wont stop or death. I think if Zibby were there and had hit the guy, big trouble for Zibby.

An irate fan? C'mon Man!

Do they realize attacking our star QB because we're upset with the team is going to scare off recruits?

I heard early this morning on espn and read the same on a # of message boards. Noone has said it was a bar fight. It has been said repeatedly that he was leaving with his folks and got sucker punched by a fan on his way to the car

I just had to post this article. Does anyone know anything about this website? It is the biggest load of crap I have ever read...

Jimmy Clausen: I Am Asking Nicely, Please Leave | Fighting Irish Gameday | Notre Dame Football
What a crap article. The "author" criticizes for not win ing every game but then negates the blame by saying it was the wr fumbles and Allen fumbling and the o-line sucking and the defense not holding in overtime

Jimmy you are to blame for everyone else's miscues. Keep brown and tenuta b/ c you fucked up their d schemes by your offense fumbling. Thanks for your touchdowns Jimmy , they need nothing? What a clown!

Thanks for clarifying Shark, good to know the true story!

Here's a quick funny story as to how rumors spread and morph. I'm a student on campus, and I just heard from another student a version of what happened. He said that he heard Jimmy had said to Golden "Good luck next year" (in a reference to Jimmy leaving for the draft), and then Golden punched him in the face out of anger.

***NOTE: This is clearly not what actually happened, so please no one go around saying this. I just thought it was funny how fast rumors spread and how ridiculously unfounded, and untrue, some of them are.

Would Zibby be your first choice for a past or present player to be on your side in a bar fight? I might have to go with my man Jeff Faine. Not just for the size, but the mean streak. Although Michael Stonebreaker kicked some ass in the pregame brawls with SC a couple of times. Heard a story about how he ripped off a Trojan player's helmet and started beating the dude with it.

Plane ticket to South Bend: $300
New black Adidas Shoes: $80
Getting pummeled with your own helmet before the game even starts: Priceless!
