The real shame is having to buy out the rest of this contract. I hope he does the right thing and resigns.

the right tghing is to finish a contract he put his word to. if they want to fire him, then they need to fire him and pay him in full. Thats doing the right thing.

He ain't resigning and its the administrations fault for giving him msuch a ridiculous extension. No one on here would turn that kind of money away. Plus the alumni weill likely pay most if not all of it.

I think they will give him the option of resigning (with some or all of his buyout), as a way to save face. He looks like he needs to take some time off and get some sleep, not in a bad way.

He looks like hes aged about 15 years the past 5 years. Davie and Willingham were the same way.

I want Weis to stay, mainly for the fact that this team has improved each year since 2007 (even if it has been slowly), and our biggest loss in terms of the final score was a 7 point loss to USC, but if he does go, I think he will either resign for health reasons (after being told he will be fired otherwise), or he will resign to a job in the Athletic Department and be similar to a "Director of Football Operations." (A job Holtz should have been given years ago)

Actually the team could finish 9-4. This team, and this may be the best you thing you can say, never gets blown out so if you're in every game, you can win every game.

And that would be a great thing to say playing the likes of, albeit, a very down USC program this year and against good teams. Never getting blown out and possibly winning every game also has the opposite effect of being able to lose every game.

I'm proud of those guys that have fought right to the end in every game, Jimmy's leadership abilities, Tate's skill and hands of stickem coated steel. But it is what it is.

The four losses this year are by a total of 18 points; last year's six losses were by a total of 77 points. So we're losing by less than a touchdown per game this year vs. the average loss last year being double digits.

Still, I take no solace in being close....a loss is a loss, a win is a win and boobies should be called massive juggs or titties.

An ND loss even by one point any year can endanger local puppies. A silly holding call against ND can endanger kitties. Clipping puts sea bass in trouble, even if they are ill-tempered sea bass. I got my list.

Why? I saw it coming and posted and spoke to people about it. They are still lil "dogs" maybe with not enough depth yet.

Maybe expectations were too high from "educated" "stars" followers and statisticians.

I don't know.

But I think this seems to be a program on the rise, albeit slower than most fans would like. Remember, I don't know if the CW scheme is the one that will take ND to the top, but what do I know.

Did Charley Weis come to ND and get stupid ? I dont think so...... 4 time Superbowl winning coach....(Offensive Coordinator) ? C'mon guys .......We have done well for the talent we have. The Players just need to develope / better recruiting. It takes time to cultivate a winning program, yes sometimes longer than Charley's tenure. We cant recruit neanderthals like OSU, TEXAS, and USC.

I also think there are better things to come from Tenuta if they keep him.......Either that or he will go somewhere else and kick A**.

I was looking for a thread to post this with so I hope you guys think this is O K. Obviously this is Charlie's last home game and I hope that the fans conduct themselves in a classy manner for Notre Dame and the football program. To me it would be lacking class to dismantle the guy as he goes out the door. As you all know I have said I respect the guy and saw how hard he worked to bring Notre Dame back. It just didnt happen. The talent level he has brought in should help the next man. He gave blood but it seems he wasnt good enough. One thing we all should keep in mind this week, the nation will be watching to see how we treat this man and this situation as it comes to a close. I hope Notre Dame shows itself in a classy way, after all is said and done Charlie worked his @$# off trying to get it done he just wasnt good enough. Notre Dame will survive but lets do it this weekend with class.
