Well I strongly supported CW when he got there. its been down hill from there really. Its like...theres no reason he shouldn't be winning. The offense shows that it can get it done but sometimes it just doesn't and why?
Why were they so unprepared for Navy? Its like Navy threw an offensive at ND that theyve never seen. Theyve only had this offensive who knows how long. And yet we seemed so surprised and unprepared. its really frusterating when we can/could be soooo good, we could have beaten USC (If Wies would have allowed Clausen to throw in the first half) and Michigan but why didnt' we?
was it really the players? I can only point to the coach.

I don't hate the man...I do think he's a class act. I just believe this is a business nowadays...Charlie had his chance...he must now go.

Not sure what rankings you're looking at...here are the Rivals.com rankings...not counting the 2010 class since it's not closed out, but ND is currently ranked ahead of them.

Fellas, don't take me wrong please. I'm not trying to throw zingers. I don't hate Charlie. I love ND and want them to win every week. I also know NOBODY wins every single game. The bottom line isn't what ranking our offense has or our defense...it's what our record is. I also believe coaching football is a big business. Lou Holtz made $70K per year as ND coach. I am friends with Lou...I am friends with Ara...these gentlemen were of a different era that we can never go back to. Charlie is a class act but his coaching skills are reserved, IMHO, for the NFL.

I disagree. Rocket Ismail was better than Tim Brown. Brown was lucky that there were no other great players in 1987 to take away his Heisman. Stupid Ty Detmer...

See here is where I am laughing and some of the Weis supporters are wrong. they asked me who the best Notre Dame player in '88 was. I said Tim Brown. Did he not play a game...a very important game for Notre Dame in '88? hahahaha. Certain guys on here should be banned for being blind homers and a joke.

That's simply not true. Yes, there is a large portion of ND fans who want CW fired (and they do have good points to argue), but it's not 90%. Waaaayyyyy less. Nice try though.

Listen to both sides of the argument, and both sides have really good points. My take? Wait until the season plays out, then let's start talking about who's getting fired and who's replacing who, etc. All we are doing is hurting the program and the players within with all this speculation. Tonight will say a lot about Charlie, the players, and the program...

I disagree, NDinL.A., but it may be decided tonight anyway...regardless what the percentages are.

1919... how about you just look at two year that you conveniently ignored from your data set and that most definitely had an impact on the team's performance in 2007 and 2008!!!

I would love for Charlie to do well here, I would love for an ND guy to get us a national championship. I used to be a huge Weis fan and would defend him at any chance, even in the 3-9 season. But, he cannot motivate his players. If you have ever been to a pep rally and he speaks (I think he was actually banned from speaking this year) all of the energy in the place dissipates. He's pretty good with Xs and Os except for the Michigan game and Navy and everytime we run the Wildcat. Weis is simply not getting it done. He has beaten only one team in the top 25 (in his career). His goals were to beat USC, make a BCS, and finish in the top 15. Well guess what, that isn't gonna happen. He was almost fired last year but there weren't any legitimate coaching candidates.

Secondly, Weis is an asshole. He really is.

Meeting him is different than knowing him. if you ask any of the managers/trainers they will tell you he's an asshole. He also refuses to talk to any of the student managers except the female ones.

I don't have a chip on my shoulder, I could care less about Weis. If you read my first post you will see that I want him to do well, but he isn't getting it done. I'm just letting you know that he is an asshole. He's kind of arrogant and he's kind of an asshole. If he were winning, then he'd be a winning asshole and I wouldn't mind. But he is a losing asshole, and that just doesn't help him

Charlie Weis needs to go back to coordinating in the NFL. He did a great job there, and some people just fit in specific places and not others. He seems like a nice guy, but a ND head football coach he is not. He is just as average as Davie and Willingham. Time to let him go, settle up the money, and begin to look for the next guy. Hopefully we hit a home run with the next hire.
