With all the preseason bad news (QB & Herzlich) I didn't think BC would have a winning season.
They opened 4-1 but looked as bad today as I expected them to be preseason. BC QB Shinskie was 1 for 12 for 4 yds and 2 INTS. Meanwhile VT RB Williams was running all over the Eagle Defense.
The Hokies dominated the first half on both sides of the ball.
VT had 12 first downs to none for BC and outgained the Eagles 293-3.
BC 4-2 lost 48-14
I have two tickets to Boston College. I'm looking to trade them for UCONN tickets. The seats are right next to the student section. Thanks.
A BCS berth rides on this game/and PITT
I'd like to see that wildcat with Goodman too. Unlike Armando, I think theres much more of a chance of him throwing the ball down the field. I'd like to see more of Goodman at WR as well.
Apparently Clausen was pretty emotional in the locker room. He told the team they will never lose again. I hope this is true. If so ND rolls this week.
Can someone tell me if this is true or not, I would love to hear it is.
Notre Dame faces a freshman quarterback for the third time this season, when 25-year-old David Shinskie leads Boston College against the Irish on Saturday.
As inviting as that might sound, with ND's blitz-heavy defensive scheme, the two freshmen ND has already faced - Michigan's Tate Forcier and USC's Matt Barkley - were each named the Davey O'Brien QB of the Week for their performances against the Irish.
Two of Clausen's worst three games of his college career (measured by passing efficiency) have come against Boston College. In two games against the Eagles, Clausen is 33-of-66 for 286 yards, 0 touchdowns and six interceptions.
The Irish rushing attack hasn't fared much better: 93 yards on 42 carries in the two games.
Sophomore cornerback Jamoris Slaughter, a standout high school safety who is stuck in a logjam at cornerback, begins cross training at safety this week. Weis' hope is that Slaughter, one of the better tacklers on the team, will find his way on the field faster at safety.
