This post may not belong here, so sorry if does not. Though this was a very tough loss, the ND players will be back. As I logged on to ESPN to get the latest headlines and to get my daily dose of ND bashing, I see this terrible story:

Connecticut Huskies starting cornerback Jasper Howard died Sunday morning after an on-campus stabbing, according to The Hartford Courant.
Jasper died at a St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, according to the newspaper. The Courant also reported Huskies coach Randy Edsall was at the hospital.
An emergency alert on the school's Web site states that the perpetrator is still at large.
Howard played in UConn's 38-25 win against Louisville on Saturday.

I know some people are calling for CW's head, we suck, etc. But when it is all said and done, this is just a game and we are fortunate and blessed to be able to disucss our trival issues here and not having to address a tragic issue like the stabbing of our starting CB on the ND campus.

My prayers are with the Howard family.

God bless him, his family and UCONN. He was a major impact in their win yesterday.

Story from above:

STORRS, Conn. (AP)—A University of Connecticut football player died Sunday following an on-campus stabbing, hours after the team’s victory over Louisville.

Twenty-year-old Jasper Howard of Miami, a junior and starting cornerback, was stabbed during a fight early Sunday. A message posted on the university’s Web site said the fight and stabbing happened near Hillside Road, which is near the center of the Storrs campus. The perpetrator was still at large.

University president Michael Hogan told The Associated Press that the stabbing is a tragedy for the entire university community. He says state police are working with campus police.

A message with UConn police was not immediately returned.

Howard was credited with 11 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in UConn’s 38-25 victory Saturday over Louisville. He led the Big East in punt returns last season.
