If Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate return, there is no reason Notre Dame shouldn't be in the national title game come January 2011.

Can you imagine how good Clausen would be with another year under his belt? Tate? Floyd? Rudolph? Allen? Our offense is going to be incredible.

And we return 9-10 starters on defense.

Things are shaping up well for the Irish.

1. The defensive line was getting some good penetration and was excellent, for the most part, against one of the best offensive lines in the country.

we need to work on our speed, agility and strength development. Look at differences in size from our players compared to USC's. a lacking in these areas explains why our defenders can tackle or cover anybody, why at times most of our receivers cant get open, why some defensive linemen dominate our oline, I love ND and I think Weis is the man for the job as well as the staff, but we need to improve in these areas or else we will never be on the same level as USC, Florida, Alabama, etc

I don't keep up with ND that much, but I think this is your D Coordinators first year in South Bend. If that's true then you probably want to give him another year, this is our third D cord in as many years and it's really hurt. If he is indeed as good as advertised give him time to implement his system.

Ive said it time and time again, Jimmy's senior year will be the defining moment for the Irish and CW. I think they can be in the hunt for a NC, and the HT for Jimmy if he does not lock it up this year. His performance tonight did not hurt that as Tebow's performance made the race closer.

I guess I can also take solace in the fact that Purdue beat osu, I can live vicariously if I want.


Yall on the other hand looked good against a top 5 team, at times, SC was kind enough to help you out with bone head penalties. But Jimmy looked as legit as you can get, and other Tate looked phenomenal, seriously if he was playing like that v. Michigan I don't think we would of won.

No, we CANNOT keep turning over coordinators. Consistency will help more than a change, assuming you keep Charlie.

I think we should keep Tenuta, but we NEED a dominant D-Tackle. Someone that can take on double teams and free up the blitzers so we can actually get to the QB on a consistent basis.

How much of a part will being 0-3 against USC be for Jimmy in his decision to come back for his senior year. He could legitimately be the #1 QB coming out this year. McCoy hasn't put up the numbers everyone that and they were talking about Bradford having one more year of eligibility. He almost needs to come back to show that he has his arm healed up.

I think Jimmy comes back because of the team and not beating USC plays a big part in that.

I'm pretty sure if I was Clausen, I would leave for the NFL. Since Charlie should and hopefully will get fired after this year, I think it would be smart for him to leave and not take a chance with a new head coach and learning a different offense.

Blanton, Gray, and Kyle McCarthy should be on the field. I didn't even see McNeil, did he play? Walls did almost nothing. Harrison Smith has been the biggest disappointment this season for me so far.
