ok so say we win the rest of our games and finish 10-2, I say we would end up just outside of the BCS but I hope we could get into one of um and hopefully teams in the top 10 keep losing

10-2 could get us in, but in the end it is out of our control. I just want us to win the rest of our games and I will be happy with wherever we end up.

It is definitely still possible.

In 2006, Notre Dame was 10-2 with two blowout losses to...what do you know, Michigan and USC.

It can happen.

It all depends on how the pollsters see us after today. If we stay in the top 25(we should stay 25 or even move up a spot or 2), we will get a BCS bowl. I think 10-2 gets us a Gator bowl though and we end up finishing the season in the top 10, but dont get BCS bid. I just cant see the pollsters leaving us in even though we are a top 20 team.

it's gonna be tough. too many questionable games to go. weiss scares the hell out of me against the likes of BC, Stanford, Pitt. Just have to wait and see.

10-2 and we get to the BCS...I think we'll either be in the top 25 tomorrow or we will be after the BC game next week. All we have to be is top 14 (i think) in the BCS to be eligible, and the computers will be kinder to us than the voters. No way we don't move up 10-15 spots if we go 6-0 to end the year.

All year all I've heard is that if ND goes 10-2 we're in. We are 2 plays from 6-0 and we should run the table. A few style points wouldn't hurt but this team can play wiht anybody. The D is totally inconsistent and makes other QB's look like Heisman candidates but with Floyd back other teams won't be able to stop us. Jimmy needs to start making plays in the first quarter not when our backs are against the wall. Too many balls thrown away too early.

Don't count your chickens. You figure ND would have to climb at least 12 spots from 25, consider NDs drop out of the poll and you are looking probably 15-20 spots.

The BCS is all about money, and ND brings in more then any other team in the country. If the Irish go 10-2 they are absolutely in. That is why we got to the last two and it is why we will go again if we win out. They don't care about the match up, IT"S ALL ABOUT THE IRISH GREEN!

But if you aren't in the top14, then you aren't getting in.

That's right baby! I live in LA and ND is on some major network every week no matter how they are doing. Unless USC is playing Ohio St. UCLA or ND they are buried on some chicken shit Fox Sports channel on the 600 plus channels of DirecTv. USC will always be our bitches untl they get their own network deal. They shouldn't hold their breath.

I don't think a BCS game is a possibility. The guys would have to win out and win impressively. Unfortunately this defense doesn't make winning impressively a possibility. THe offense can put up 30 week in and week out but the defense gives up 30 week in and week out. Winning last minute heart stoppers against BC and UConn and teams of similar ilk is not going to win us votes in the Top 25 and, in order to get into a BCS game, ND is going to have finish Top 12. The remaining schedule won't allow for a Top 12 finish. At the end of the day the loss to Michigan is the damning loss of this season....not the loss to USC.

You may end up being right but to say its not a possibility is a bit of an overstatement.

The bigger question is, would we DESERVE it? Assuming 10-2 (which is a HUGE leap at this point), and you can't beat a mediocre Michigan team, eh, with a lot of other 2 loss or better teams from the glamor conferences? No one takes us seriously, nor should they. I think Gator is the best we could hope for.

I think 10-2 and were in easily.

PAC 10: USC
SEC: Bama/Florida
Big East: Cincy or Pitt...whoever wins when they play
Big 10: Who knows but two teams at most (Iowa, PSU, OSU)
ACC: Again, who knows but two at most (VT, GT, Miami)
Big 12: Just Texas
NON-BCS: Boise State or TCU

Thats 10 teams assuming that the Big 10 and ACC get two teams each but who knows if they will or not.

We're not even in the Top 25 at this point in the year and our strength of schedule/defense aren't going to do us any favors. The guys won't make a BCS game and, IMO, they shouldn't.

well they will if they win out, and they should make one if they win out

and the strength of schedule might not be doing us favors right now in the polls, but the computers dont seem to mind it. If we go 10-2, we'll be in the top 14 of the BCS. And wait until the top 25 comes out tomorrow before you say were not in it. We're going to be #28 at the worst probably and there's a good chance we'll still be ranked.

Don't discount Oregon. Bama and Florida will most likely both be in, FLA to the NC game and Bama in the Sugar Bowl again possibly. Cincy I feel will come out of the BigEast. I can see Iowa and PSU getting in if they win out. Miami takes the ACC, Texas in the Big12 and BoiseSt for atlarge.

FLA vs Texas in the NC game.
Iowa vs USC in the Rose Bowl
BoiseSt vs Oregon in the Fiesta
Miami vs Cinci in the Orange Bowl
Alabama vs PSU in the Sugar

That is, if things play out as they are now.

Oh, NDMontana you said you have been gone for a couple weeks. Are you back to make youre argument for Clausen not being one of the best 20 qbs in college football? Anytime you want to let us know how Jacob Bower is a better QB than Clausen while he is a backup at Tulsa, let me know. What were you doing, looking at a preseason magazine or something when you made this list?

Case Keenum (Houston)
Dan LeFevour (Central Michigan)
Tim Tebow (Florida)
Sam Bradford (Oklahoma)
Taylor Potts (Texas Tech)
Colin Kaepernick (Nevada)
Colt McCoy (Texas)
Zac Robinson (Oklahoma State)
Robert Griffin (Baylor)
Todd Reesing (Kansas)
Max Hall (BYU)
Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State)
Jeremiah Masoli (Oregon)
Jacob Bower (Tulsa)
Austin Davis (Southern Miss)
Kellen Moore (Boise State)
Joe Webb (UAB)
Bo Levi Mitchell (SMU)
Tate Forcier (UM)
Jacory Harris (Miami)
Kevin Riley (Cal)

I think 10-2 ND gets in over 10-2 Oregon (assuming they lose to USC) but Boise-Oregon rematch would be fun to watch. I'm curious about a 10-2 PSU vs. 10-2 ND or 11-1 Iowa vs. ND in terms of who would be chosen. Would be close I think.
