So.....I underestimated your age...I watched the 1988 National Championship Game...admittedly I was only ten at the time but I remember it...I thoroughly enjoyed watching the teams between 1989 and 1993, don't quite understand why an option team would recruit Mirer or Powlus, but whatever they won...

Before this it is most likely videos and written memories as the greatness of ND and the national championship of 1977 was 9 mos. before I was born...I do remember a bowl era before the BCS and I remember the anger when Florida State was awarded the NC over ND instead of dual championship, I also remember the mediocrity of the Davie/Willingham era's...during that time I never felt that there was much of a chance to win it all, with this administration I get that feeling, and I think it will only get better from here...

Weis is a better coach than Willingham and Davie both and his 5 years has been more successful IMO than each of their runs as HC. However Weis' tenure has shown that Notre Dame isnt what it used to be although we're held to that expectation by the media due to our past greatness.

I feel that somebody else could take what Weis has done at Notre Dame and build off of it and take this program back to the level I want to remember it at and be able to instill an expectation of excellence and success on the field amongst the younger Fighting Irish fans who dont know how it feels as a fan.

Urban Meyer has coached 5 years at florida and has a 48 and 9 record with 2 BCS Championships. This is what we should be looking like, but we settle for giving Charlie another year and see how it works out. CAN HIM, I would settle for anyone else.

How many of USC's current starters qualified to enter ND, let alone wanted to put up with the academic rigor...you cannot compare us to a USC, or a Florida, Alabama, Texas...our standards are on par with Stanford, Vanderbilt and the Ivy Leagues...stop comparing apples to oranges

What the norm is saying is we are sick of seeing coaches changed in and out and no results coming from it. Who do you recommend, some are saying anybody. Take your choice.

This team is as much yours as it is the younger fans, or the newer fans. No to Chris Petersen, I think hes doing a good job at Boise due to their circumstances but he has never recruited the Midwest or Nationally and needs to show the ability to translate that success to a program in the Pac 10 or in the Big 12 before being looked at for a job like this.

Im very much on the fence about Skip Holtz, but he deserves an interview.

I don't consider myself as a "we"...I don't play for Notre Dame, I very rarely get into the stands, but I follow...I cry with success...I am hurt by defeat and I am not that young...

Notre Dame has recruited nationally, and hard since Weis took over. ND finds players that can succeed and want to succeed in a tough academic environment...some battles are lost, but that can be expected as I am yet to see a single war won without a battle lost, ND offers capable players who have focused enough on Academics to be within the elite of high school football players...would you suggest offering young men who had no chance of succeeding in school? It is not an excuse so much as a current fact of life...the day the ND lowers its standards and let's the likes of me in is the day I stop pulling and rooting for them...ND is special stop trying to make it normal.

Nothing is different from the days of yesteryear other than the increased involvement of money for programs.

Edit: Referring to running QB's that has always been apart of college football for years, back when the single wing was sexy and the triple option was virtually unstoppable.

number 10 offense in the Nation for Total Offense. #100 in Total Defense. Is this really Weis' fault? I mean I know he is the head coach and all but he is offensive coordinator and headcoach thus almost totally leaving him no time to deal with the Defense.

The losses we have are not on our Head Coaches back or our offenses' back. We give up to many plays and too many points on defense point blank.

Sounds to me like you should be taking your argument to admissions...ultimately they are the ones who decide who gets in...and they expect a display of work ethic that last all of high school...not the promise of one...and you are not my father, so don't refer to me as young man unless we are face to face.
