To the Students of our beloved University of Notre Dame,
As we near the end of midterms week, we would like to wish all of you the best of luck with the results of your exams. But now is time to shift our concerns to a different matter that faces us as proud students of the one and only University of Notre Dame: the football game against Southern Cal this Saturday.
The anticipation on campus has been mounting all week, and by adding to the already blazing fire this Friday we will be able to create an insurmountable force on Saturday when our united energy erupts inside Notre Dame Stadium.
It is up to all of you to make this happen. Notre Dame Nation needs you, and the vital role that each and every one of you must play starts on Friday.
A new unscripted, high energy, Fightin’ Irish Call to Arms Rally will be held Friday afternoon on the Irish Green. This will be a momentous event showcasing the meaner, nastier, raw Fightin’ Irish emotion that all of us share as we approach Saturday.
The entire football team will be in attendance, and they have requested that all students show up by 5:30pm so they can arrive to an already packed house at 6pm. We made sure that a large area will be held for you until 6pm, but we are expecting the student section to burst beyond those confines well before then. Also look for the arrival of a full sized Trojan Horse which will lead our assault on Troy this Saturday, as well as special guests Rocket Ismail and Joe Theismann, true Fightin’ Irish warriors who know what it takes to go head to head with a fierce enemy and come out on top.
Our 2009 Football Team, whose fame will echo in eternity through the legends of Notre Dame Nation, deserves a welcome befitting of a band of heroes. This is our final chance to send them off to battle knowing that they have the passion of our nation behind them.
This is the biggest game at Notre Dame Stadium since any of us have been enrolled here. We must all unite together as one for our team, our fellow students, our University, and Our Lady of the Golden Dome. It starts this Friday. We will make this the type of weekend that legends are made of. The fall of Troy is near at hand…
Go Irish! Beat Southern Cal!
-Daniel Collins, Notre Dame Leprechaun
-Aaron Hernandez, Notre Dame Band Drum Major
-Grant Schmidt, Notre Dame Student Body President
