I am Ok wither way as long as they're not an ugly version of the Jersy that Ty used against BC or the one CW used in 2007 against USC in a 37-0 drubbing.

We can put the names on the back of the dark Blue's, where green or how about putting the ND on the helmets?

We won the Hawai'i Bowl last year brother! Check out Hulu.com. It was an exorcism of sorts... and tantamount to near orgasm.

As much as I am a fan of the greens...I currently think that's a BCS kind of moment, a la Sugar Bowl '92.

I was at the BC game in '02 when the team came out in the kelly greens. My response (and that of many around me) was, "oh shit." And not in a good way. I don't recall Davie rocking the green.

Oh, and Holtz did deck the team in green for the Fiesta Bowl in the '94 season. Yeah, we got whacked.

Other schools are successful with color outs, like MSU with white outs. If it was hyped up it could happen for most of the stadium. I doubt we could ever get our stadium are true sea of green though.

I'm kinda half and half on this. The only way I see us wearing kelly greens is if we have a demanding lead at halftime (something like 20-0) and we put them on for the second half. I DON'T think we should wear them from the start, it'll just give the haters more reason to talk to us if we get blown away.

golden tate said he wanted a black out on facebook. that probably won't happen. then somebody commented and said that he heard a rumor that the students wanted to make an irish flag. that would be pretty schweet.

just facebook chatter though. nothing to get hyped about.

The Iriash flag idea would be nuts i am all for the students doing awsome things but No jerseys or helmets but the great old blue and gold. If we come out in green the poodle will just spit to his team that ND doesn't respect then they will get all hyped up.. i thought we would learn our lesson by now.

By the way, does anybody know the meaning of "Kelly" green? I believe it references Patrick Kelly, colonel of the Irish Brigade in the American Civil War. The chaplain of the Irish Brigade went on to become a chaplain(?) for the University of Notre Dame and the "Fighting Irish" is derived from his unit. Anybody else have another backstory?

I read another backstory over the summer in a book called "natural enemies, the rivalry between notre dame and michigan."

one of the biggest games ever was 1913. ND played poor in the first half and trailed. the captain (forget his name now) came in furious and said, "You're all a bunch of Irishmen and not fightin worth a lick!"

a reporter heard the tongue lashing outside the locker room. ND went on to win a close one. the headline of that paper the next day read, "fighting irish edge michigan." it started to float through campus pretty quickly and then spread like wildfire, but the university didn't make it official until the 1920s

I think those green jerseys motivate the OPPONENTS more. Worst move in history was Willingham wasting those things on BC of all teams and then we lost. Ugh that can never be lived down.

You have to do something special with all the recruits coming into town. This experience has to stand out above all the rest. Some sort of uniform change.

This is the most important game is CW's career.
