2009 Heisman Watch - Heisman Trophy Candidates - ESPN

1. Tebow
2. McCoy
3. Keenum
4. Pike
5. Clausen

Clausen is the only one of the five whose stock was upgraded.

Jimmy Clausen's legend continues to grow. The junior quarterback led the Irish to their first-ever overtime win in the Charlie Weis era. He finished with 422 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and completed 74 percent of his passes.

KEENUM? CASE KEENUM?

The dude threw 76 passes last night and his team still lost by 17!

It hasnt been updated yet. They update the voting on Monday.
Keenum will fall, likely off the list. By seasons end Pike will be off the list as well. I think Jimmy will get an invite to NY and likely finish third as the voters will continue to suck Tebow and McCoy's...well you know whats.

He is atleast #4 no doubt, with I would say likely #3

And Clausen's one pick was a ball that bounced off of the receiver's hands. I'm not saying that he didn't throw any bad balls yesterday, but he sure should have finished the day with no picks.

I bet Tebow could be out for the season and he would still be a Heisman finalist. He's living on hype alone, right now. He's done almost nothing against powerhouses like Charleston Southern and Troy, and did not play well against Tennessee.

Colt McCoy is not impressive at all. 9 TDs, 5 INTs. The best team he has played is a 3-2 Texas Tech team.

Tony Pike has played lights out, but has yet to face a legitimate team.

I'll tell you this:

If Jimmy Clausen plays a great game against USC and we win, he will definitely be the #1 Heisman candidate.

Not going to lie, that was from last week. They update the stats and what they have to say about them, but I am pretty sure it is all updated tomorrow. Same score as last week too, one point behind 4th place.

I don't care if he wins it or not. He is a stud and I would hope that he will stay for another year. You remember he stated he wants to win a N.C. That and he will be up against some good qbs in the next NFL draft.

If he goes this year or not he will be a first round pick. He is the most prepared and NFL ready QB in the country. It will be interesting to see if this team finishes strong, will he come back for a chance at the championship.

And win a BCS bowl game. I don't care what those voters say he's the best QB in the Country!!!!!!!!!!

The Heisman Trophy is awarded before any bowl games are played, one of the many flaws of the award.

Duh, I forgot about that, they should wait until the bowl season is over............

The two best examples:

1. Ty Detmer over Rocket Ismail. Detmer went on to throw four interceptions in his bowl game, while Rocket almost single-handedly won the infamous game against Colorado.

2. Reggie Bush over Vince Young. Young goes on to have one of the greatest performances in college football history in the Rose Bowl.

Regardless of my hate for USC, Bush deserved the Heisman. He had a great year and was the main reason SC beat Notre Dame and Fresno St. Young had a great year but overall Bush was the Heisman winner imo

Reggie had a great Rose Bowl too.
If he didn't do the phantom lateral they probably win the game.

Man I was elated Texas beat them. That was my late X-Mas present. I lost 50 bucks the year before :jerkit: from the same USC team when they beat Oklahoma in the NC. I never miss their (USuC's) bowl games hoping for a debacle not in their favor.
