He's not even the best receiver on the team. I love me some Golden Tate, but Michael Floyd is the better receiver. How many drops did he have this year? Tate has dropped 3 YD passes, and he's a horrible (yet improving) blocker (this is per several coaches who know more about this than you and I). This year for some reason he has a case of the dropsies (he bobbled a few balls yesterday as well).
I'm not trying to dis Tate, because he is a phenominal player who proved what a complete stud he is, but he has a superstar QB getting him the ball in position to make plays. Ask AJ Green (perhaps the best receiver in college football, along with Julio Jones and Michael Floyd) if he'd like to have Jimmy throwing him the ball.
Actually, as I'm typing this, remembering how hard it is to tackle Tate, he has to be considered one of the top 5 receivers in the game. I'd still take Floyd over him (Floyd was putting up video game numbers when he was healthy), but man, what a performance yesterday. But for me, Jimmy is the best player on this team. He's been absolutely unbelievable. Chris Mortensen on ESPN last night said that the top NFL QB prospect in college was playing in South Bend yesterday, and that GMs are looking at Clausen and Locker as the top 2 QBs in next year's draft (although not necessarily in that order).
