i was wondering the same exact thing. you would think he could help the d-line, but perhaps he's not ready.

I doubt it. Unless someone gets hurt. I think he is going to be a real good player, but will probably red-shirt, but he may be too good to keep off the field.

Guys,
He will be red-shirted. It is rare the day that a true freshman can have an impact on the DL. This position requires such physical demands that it is best to give a guy time to grow and get stronger.

Play him anyway. Create a rotation where the youngins get some snaps here and there to keep the others fresh. Screw redshirting. We need them all this year and next while the offense is great.

20 ND players saw the field for the first time against Nevada. Seven of them were true freshman. Five True freshman, Tausch, Te'o, Riddick, Motta, and Cowart start on Special Teams. Riddick has gotten time in the backfield and Evans at WR. And that's in only 2 games.

ND has played 4 interior DLs Johnson, I. Williams, Cwynar, and H. Williams.

Charlie is playing "youngins" and Tenuta is playing backups.

Stockton needs to work himself into the 2 Deep.

My guess is that Brandon Newman will be the next (#5) Defensive Tackle to see the field.

Stockton is #6 and in the 3rd deep. Hopefully he is helping out the scout team.....
