not surprised. polls at this point in the season are meaningless anyway. It is nice to get the recognition, but we are only 2 games in. Long season....

Its as we would think and its good. Notre Dame will do some damage before this season is over. Use this to its full motivation. Watch what happens now.

Whocares. Ten games to go. Its where we are ranked at the end that matters.

People it's not the end of the world! We will be back. Have faith, we will not lose another game. Yes, it's hard to lose a winable game but the season is still young. We will destroy Mich. St and the rest. God Bless all ya!

I take solace in the fact that Michigan is not a Top 25 team. They've beaten Western Michigan and Notre Dame; neither victory is overly impressive. I said earlier in the week that somebody was going to come out of this game wildly overrated and that is what happened. Michigan is not a Top 25 team and that will be proven when they begin their Big 10 schedule because they are staring at losses vs. Penn State, Ohio State and either Iowa or Wisconsin.

Has anyone else see what's going on in College Football? Wisconsin barely won, Oregon barely got by Purdue, North Carolina barely got by Connecticut, Toledo killed Colorado, I know Colorado is down but still - Central Michigan beat MSU, ect.... I guess you can't take anyone for granted anymore, there is no more automatic wins. You'll going to have to earn it. I do like that the smaller teams are giving all they have.

I noticed that last year when we nearly lost to San Diego State and then went on to lose at home to Syracuse.

Not that this matters but Notre Dame went 11-1 through the year in my Ncaa football 2010 game (And I'm not using them) and they won their insight bowl finished 12-1 and was ranked 14th at the end of the year and they are preseason #19. No love from video games pollsters either.

If we go 3-0 over the next 4 weeks before USC we will be ranked around 10-15. Even if we lose that game we can still go 6-0 down the stretch and be back in the top 10. Most were predicting 10-2 before the season anyway.

Purdue, Pittsburgh, and Stanford are the only road games left on our schedule.

IMO, Pitt and Stanford are both worthy road opponents. And Purdue will put up points but they cant stop anyone either.

I would be shocked if Pitt is not ranked by the time we play them.

I wouldn't even by that surprised if Pitt is undefeated when we play them, and I don't even think they're that good. Purdue has looked pretty impressive this year. This MSU game saturday will define our season.

Yes, yes it will. I can see us losing, or I can see us winning 38-10. It just depends how we come out. Will we have a good week of practice? Will this team play with fire? Will we use yesterday's loss as motivation or will we go into the tank?

The answers to those questions will tell us everything.

Should not even be a poll until week 4. Not even the so called experts really know what is gonna happen. Look at Okla St. There will be huge swings in the polls for next few weeks. Plus, I have no prob with UM getting in the polls. Helps make our schedule look tougher. We will be firmly in the polls by USC. Then we will be in Top 10 after that game. GO IRISH

If we win by 10+, we will be in the top 25 next week. Too many teams ahead of us will lose.

Just in terms of ranked teams, Miami (vs. Ga tech), Nebraska (at Va Tech) and Utah (at Oregon) have very good chances of losing. Cincy and Oregon State are playing eachother and are both ahead of us. Kansas (vs. Duke), Georgia (at Arkansas), Pittsburgh (vs. Navy) and North Carolina (vs. ECU) all could potentially be upset. And Texas Tech is ahead of us but not ranked and they're playing Texas. We will be in the top 25 by next week as long as we win by 10+.

No way Kansas loses to Duke, and I hate the Jayhawks.

After the way ND played Saturday, there is no way I would have them ranked.

If their D is impressive and holds MSU to under 20, I would rank them.

There's no way that beating a team that lost at home to Central Michigan makes us Top 25 material.

with where were ranked right now and with who the teams ahead of us are playing, we will be ranked if we win by 2 scores
