Its as we would think and its good. Notre Dame will do some damage before this season is over. Use this to its full motivation. Watch what happens now.
The question is : Can ND win on the road to a worthy team?
Has anyone else see what's going on in College Football? Wisconsin barely won, Oregon barely got by Purdue, North Carolina barely got by Connecticut, Toledo killed Colorado, I know Colorado is down but still - Central Michigan beat MSU, ect.... I guess you can't take anyone for granted anymore, there is no more automatic wins. You'll going to have to earn it. I do like that the smaller teams are giving all they have.
I noticed that last year when we nearly lost to San Diego State and then went on to lose at home to Syracuse.
Purdue, Pittsburgh, and Stanford are the only road games left on our schedule.
IMO, Pitt and Stanford are both worthy road opponents. And Purdue will put up points but they cant stop anyone either.
I would be shocked if Pitt is not ranked by the time we play them.
I wouldn't even by that surprised if Pitt is undefeated when we play them, and I don't even think they're that good. Purdue has looked pretty impressive this year. This MSU game saturday will define our season.
If we go 3-0 over the next 4 weeks before USC we will be ranked around 10-15. Even if we lose that game we can still go 6-0 down the stretch and be back in the top 10. Most were predicting 10-2 before the season anyway.
10-15? Thats awfully optimistic isn't it?
we're 30/31 right now. not that much of stretch to go up 4-5 spots a week.
If we win by 10+, we will be in the top 25 next week. Too many teams ahead of us will lose.
Just in terms of ranked teams, Miami (vs. Ga tech), Nebraska (at Va Tech) and Utah (at Oregon) have very good chances of losing. Cincy and Oregon State are playing eachother and are both ahead of us. Kansas (vs. Duke), Georgia (at Arkansas), Pittsburgh (vs. Navy) and North Carolina (vs. ECU) all could potentially be upset. And Texas Tech is ahead of us but not ranked and they're playing Texas. We will be in the top 25 by next week as long as we win by 10+.
No way Kansas loses to Duke, and I hate the Jayhawks.
There's no way that beating a team that lost at home to Central Michigan makes us Top 25 material. If their D is impressive and holds MSU to under 20, I would rank them.
