Do you guys see Corwin leaving at the end of the year. I believe if we do win 9,10,11 games then he will leave. Sad. I also worry we will lose Polian or Ianello at the end of the year. They have been excellent recruiters and I would hate to see them go.

I have no inside knowledge to base this on, but i dont think any of them will leave. I think they'd like to see how this group will pan out in the upcoming years.

Kmoose, when I say leave I mean leave to get promoted to another job. Sorry didn't realize the concept was that difficult to grasp

Considering he is a co-defensive coordinator, I find the concept of anyone offering him a Head Coaching job VERY difficult to grasp.

Polian isn't going anywhere. He's a special teams coach. That's his niche. He contributed to a book written solely on special teams.

Ianello is the recruiting coordinator. We haven't seen or heard anything that says they'd have other interests unless Charlie got tossed.

I think both guys are content and also want to see the benefits of what they've recruited

the better ND does this year, the more attention Corwin Brown will get. He will get a promotion eventually, but hopefully for us, not for a couple/few years.

But he looks like he will get a shot at a HC position somewhere.

Ummm. we won 1 game so far this year. I wouldnt even be thinking about that right now. Lets see if we can actually win more than 6 games per season before you speculate on someone wanting to offer Corwin Brown a coaching opportunity, because if I were a coach I wouldnt be looking to find a mediocre coach that cant win more than 7 games a year.

agreed. way to early to tell. it could go the other way and we dont win 9 10 11 games, than the whole staff may lose their jobs, not gain new jobs.

I think touchdown jesus will leave too.....

agreed, I heard Touchdown Jesus was getting an offer from Urban to leave.

NDOM before you go all high and mighty on me, just thnk, the recruiting has been good by Polian and Ianello. I just worry someone might try and steal them for something like that. Not even considering the record.

Now for my defense of Corwin, look, some shitty team took Haywood (thank god) so what makes you guys think when we win 8 or 9 games that someone won't take a chance?

I'm the least kool-aid drinker of them all. I think the win last week didn't prove anything, but we will win 8 games by the schedule alone. Will it prove anything, that's yet to be seen.

Hopefully we can have a successful year, get CW some job security and maybe in the off-season or some point next season Corwin can be named coach-in-waiting. Don't see the point in him wanting to leave and go coach some MAC school for a few years, and then maybe if he does extremely well eventually get offered the ND job, when he could just stay here till CW is done (again depending on if CW gets some job security after this year) and take over for him.

I would be more worried about Tenuta leaving. I believe his contract is up after this year. On the positive side he is a defensive coordinator and knows it. He isnt looking for a Head coaching job he know his place and loves it.

Corwin will probably just reassume his role as DC if Tenuta leaves but you best believe he has learned alot from Tenuta.

I can see Ianello staying and becoming OC for us

Polian i think is staying but another team could swoop in and try to snatch him from us.

100% Corwin would rather stay and have a title like that. I can't imagine he would get it but yeah he would love it. I really like Corwin and hope he stays for a long, long time, and would love to see him be the next coach. I think he would be great as long as he found a good O coordinator and D coordinator and was just the HC. I mean come on he is great for motivation of the players, but bad at scheming. I love him and I hope he accepts his place at the right hand of the Charlie.

What is up with all of the negative threads????? Our defense got lucky, Corwin is leaving, Cierre Wood is transferring. My God we just won 35-0. It was the largest margin of victory in the Weis era and our first shutout since 2002. These threads are making me depressed!!

I made a similar post in the Cierre Wood thread last night:

Because some people can't handle prosperity.

ND has a winning streak that's wasn't 48 hours old and inane posts went up speculating about transfers, coaches leaving, and next year's OLine.

There are 11 more regular season games to play and a bowl game.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

With all th hype - hope - prospects for ND in 2010: why would Tenuta want to be somewhere else next year?

I found it interesting how the NBC crew kept referring to Tenuta's defense and then later in the broadcast made an effort to include Brown's name in the conversation.

The titles are awkward but the defense is Tenuta's.
