Charile has done it. When Schmitt had to retire becasue of one to many cracks to the noggin, CW stepped up and said that his scholly will remain intact for the remainder of his career.

Yeah its too bad for Telfort but hopefully he realizes that he will get a free education out of this and make the best out of a sad situation

That being said... can't say I'm not pleased with the fact that U$C just happened to lose a 4star LBs talent...

Maybe someone could help but i think it is an NCAA rule to keep a scholarship for a player who cannot perform because of medical reasons

I don't think it is an NCAA requirement.

NCAA Athletic Scholarships are awarded on a One year basis and they are renewable annually for 4 more years. They are not automatically renewed.

The NCAA does permit schools to keep athletes who have experienced a career ending injury to be put on a non-athletic scholarship that does not count against the 85 man nor 25 man rules.
