According to a premium article on rivals, this kid was 'overwhelmed' by the ND offer. He was previously being recruited to Maryland by new graduate asst Brian White. ND didn't know about him, as he is surrounded by other star athletes on his h.s. team, but White brought him to ND's attention and they gave him his offer. According to another poster on GH, he's a stud who had 60 tackles and 9 picks as a jr. (the poster also said that he actually weighs 180 according to the local rags.)

Despite being under the radar, he has offers from some good schools, such as Virginia Tech and Texas Tech. But this kid could be an ND lean VERY soon. He couldn't believe that ND actually wanted him, and he will visit for the spring game, if not sooner. His parents were extremely excited as well. The kicker is that when he plays the NCAA Football video game, he chooses ND!

According to Rivals, premium story, I don't have access, sorry, but it leads to believe we're in very good position with this kid. Anyone have any info on him?

Corwin Brown is his recruiter... Corwin Brown is a closer.

CB has kept regular contact with him, creating a good relationship, unlike some of the the other schools to offer him, which have not kept in contact.

Well he's definitely not all-Irish, but I do like our chances too. He was on the Power Hour w/ Mike Frank just a few hours ago. He said that he will definitely be here for the spring game. He's also visiting Clemson's spring game. He's a late bloomer, but he's been tearing it up at camps, including a recent 7-on7 camp where he really shined, and other teams are starting to jump in on the kid. He said he can't wait to check out ND, and that he has a close relationship w/ Corwin Brown. Wants to go to a univ that is a winner, but one where he can compete for playing time early on. Also, he's going to check out the schools he's interested in now in the springtime, and then make a decision by the end of the summer...

That would be friggin' sweet. He's going to be rising up the charts (unless he commits to ND, in which all rising sems to stop!), so by the time his senior year ends he should be a lot higher on people's charts. He's only played football for over a year!

Well, he wasn't able to make it for the spring game, but he did just announce his top 3: Virginia Tech, North Carolina State and ND...

Before you get excited read that headline again. Clemson and USC (the East Coast version South Carolina) aren't leading they're in Amerson's top 5 per Kornblut. That's a typical style Kornblut headline.


Per Kornblut almost 20 offers. Top 5 CL, SCA ND VT and NCS. He neglects to mention if there's any order. Other offers include DUK, WF, UMD, UNC, TT, SU, and WVU. Coaches have visited from CL SCA (notice those two consistently come first in Kornblut reporting. No, I don't like his style), SU, DUK, UMD, UNC, WF, VT, ND, WVU, LSU, and UGA.

Amersons plans to camp at ALA, LSU, and UTN.

I don't think Amerson has been on ND's campus. I'd really like to see him take a couple of days and journey to the midwest as opposed to camping with Saban, Miles, and Kiffin.

Amerson who has only played HS football for one season has added an offer from LSU.

60 Tackles/ 9 Interceptions in your first season, not too shabby.

No he hasnt been to the campus yet but plans to visit over June 26th along with Moore and Preister. We are in his top 3 thanks entirely to the relationship he has built with Corwin, and that we got to him so early.

Four favorites leaning VT, CL, NCS, ND. Heading to UNC this weekend. No hurry to make decision.

Most teams like me at corner now. Me being aggressive and physical has helped. I'd like to get out to LSU and maybe to TT, and SCA, and of course ND. And to Kentucky and Louisville. Places I've never been.

Hadn't heard about this kid for a while so I am glad to hear he is still interested. For a while I thought he was going to be one of our first commits.

He confirmed that he's coming to ND on the 26th with his mom, and according to 2 different sites that I've read won't be afraid to commit if it feels right (nor will he rush his commitment if it's not a prefect match)...

Mike Ferrel believves Amerson will make a decision soon with NC State as the leader> Amerson says he will not make a decision before visiting Notre Dame. Healso has NC State as a player for Kendell Moore.
