Golden Tate is getting some serious hype

Damn. I have personally always thought Michael Floyd was the better receiver and will have the better career. I don't think Golden will have that big of a year. He will have like those 4 or 5 ridiculous plays, and will always be the explosive home run threat, but I think it is Floyd who everyone will be talking about at the end of the year.

I kinda feel the same way, although Golden is amazing I think Floyd is going to be the biggest threat as far as our receivers go.

Charlie Weis agrees with you. I believe I posted a quote of his in the Floyd versus Tate thread. Charlie pointed out that Floyd is playing the same position he played in HS and is the more complete receiver while Tate is still learning how to play receiver.

Yup. In Golden's first season, he barely saw the field and when he did, he did mostly fly patterns. His sophomore season was much improved, as he started doing slugo's, slants, and the occasional fade (the catch at the end of the first half of the Hawaii game was pretty memorable). I can not wait to see how he improves this season. Another 1,000 yard season seems possible.

Guys, I had the priviledge of being in the locale of him (Tate) while he was in high school. I am much older and have kids his age. He was an absolute stud in high school. A playmaker. He is an outstanding college player as are many of his teammates. I look forward to this season.

I was so hyped when we signed this kid, and then the Purdue game in '07 showed a flash of what he was capable of and then last year gave me funny feelings in the pants for five months. I will name all my children Golden and urge them to name all their children the same.
