It is obvious that there was a conspiracy to kill Kennedy. I believe the Warren Commision discovered who was behind it. I also believe it was not Johnson. All you need to know that Oswald was a patsy is one fact: There was not a long enough window of opportunity for Oswald to have fired 3 shots. There was 5.6 seconds of opportunity new technology indicates that it would take at the least 8.1 seconds at the least.
Why do I believe this? The Warren Commision itself:
Members
Earl Warren, Chief Justice of the United States; (1948 Republican Nominee
for Vice President.)
Richard Russell, Jr., (D-GA); U.S. Senator;
John Sherman Cooper, (R-KY); U.S. Senator;
Hale Boggs, (D-LA); U.S. Representative;
Gerald R. Ford, (R-MI); U.S. Representative;
Allen W. Dulles, former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency;
(Appointed by President Eisenhower)
John J. McCloy, former President of the World Bank. (long time Rockefellar
associate and friend of Eisenhower)
All but two were Republicans or had Republican ties, the date of the assination was Nov 22, 1963. The Commission's final report was given to Johnson on September 24, 1964. The Presidential Election was 6 weeks later. (*The Cuban Missile Crisis was Oct 18-29, 1962 Keep that date in mind) The report concluded that Oswald acted alone. A commission of 7 people where 5 were basically republicans and they found nothing on Johnson. No insuations nothing, If there was any chance he was involved they would have been all over it. It however was a unanimous agreement.
I have seen just about every history narrative from the History Channel to the CBS documentary in 1967. I have read extensively on the subject.
I think there are many holes in the commission's report. Why were they unanimous? Which leads me to another reason I think Johnson was not behind it. Consider the era, the U.S. population was paranoid about the "Bomb" but they used to run commercials that would show the explosion and tell people "If you see a blinding flash, look for cover, find anything you can" It would actually show people in the park covering up with newspapers. This was bull and we all know that now. But in the 60's the Public was not so well informed. There were people who thought we could survive a nuclear holocaust. But the congress and our leaders knew differently, I am sure much of the ruse was to quell fears.
The USSR and Cuba knew this too, that is why I beleive they created the fall guy, Oswald.
If it had been the Mafia, there would have been some that would have been willing to point the finger and thus help with their political agenda. It may have made them a target, but usually after such noteriety, it is very dangerous to knock off someone and make them a martyr.
So in conclusion, if the Warren Commission had even remotely pointed the finger at Johnson, it might have turned the election. Instead of being a Johnson landslide it might have been a Goldwater landslide. Of course this would not have been unanimous as two democrats would not have concurred. If however, they had concluded that Castro and the Soviet Union had a hand in an elaborate plot, the American people would have demanded retaliation and congress and our leaders would have been a victim of their own propaganda. If we had retaliated against Cuba, it very well could have been escalated to a nuclear war with the USSR. This would have been enough to have the commision file a report in unanimity in the face of an obvious conspiracy, and dismiss facts that are clearly undeniable. If they thought it might cost millions of American lives if the American people knew the truth. The unanimity of the report cannot be discounted. They lied, but why would all of them lie about the same thing.
This is a summary of my personal thoughts, if it seems nutty, so be it. But to me it does seem plausible.
