He said he's not planning to visit ND again before making his decision. I hope we land him, but it doesn't look too good right now.

ouch. so much for ND getting a rebuttal. hopefully people are just hyping up his reaction to stanford. either way the kid wins with a great education. it just depends on whether he wants to play for a legendary football program or not.

From the article, he seemed to hype Stanford himself.

DId he visit ND at all? Or did he visit Stanford and decide he doesn't need to visit anywhere else?

I thought he was going to be at the spring game? Either way, if he chooses Stanford, he's going to be sad when they are demolished by our boys in Paolo Alto come November. He will have wished he picked the Blue and Gold.

USC will be saying the same thing about Manti, Shaq, and Cierre when the Trojans visit South Bend

Wow... the mood of this board switched faster than a NY tranny in post op...

Yeah, it's amazing how fast things can change. I was reading over on rivals yesterday and was amazed at how many fans all of a sudden changed their tune to " I didn't really want him anyway, and he's not that good", I thought what the hell is this crap. It looked like a Michigan message board.

I know i still want this kid, and i'm sure the staff does. There is a long time until NSD so with that said, we have a fighting chance at him.

I think all of this negative stuff on boards is somewhat of a coping mechanism. Trying to convince themselves about how they aren't that good, their competition isn't that good, or how they wont pan out in college. I guess if they say they didn't want him enough they start to actually believe they didn't want him in the first place.

Yup. A sampling of things people on this board said:

great to hear he is leaning towards us. hope we can grab him and have him help recruit the area

That would be a nice pick up for our defense
.

Agreed .... I really want him to commit to the Irish! Appears to have a lot of potential.

Come on Chance, come play for a school who's fans will support you no matter what!

It is very likely that Chance will be a 5 Star next year. He was already invited to play in the Army All American game next year. Keep this name in mind.

I'm hoping he commits to us as well. I love getting the Chicago kids again.

I think it's safe to say most of us pretty much wanted him. This board hasn't been nearly as bad as some of the other boards who have been quick to do what OCIrish was talking about, which is basically the Loser's Limp. ND fans saying that they really didn't want him in the first place is pathetic. I'll say what I said before, that I'm very disappointed to lose him, because he's the type of kid that can develop and be a force as an upperclassman. I hate losing any recruits that this staff thinks is ND material. Like someone else just said though, NSD is a long ways away, and plenty more recruits will come and go, and hopefully more will come and stay...

Just went to his rivals site, and they had him listed at medium before, but they have him listed once again as 'high interest'. Who knows if they got some info to make them change it again, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. Plenty of time left still...

He still has not commited to anyone and I would love to get this kid. He is a player. We will know once the Blue and Gold Game if he has interest in the Irish.

Article says ND is in the lead again. Also says that Nebraska offered so he's going to take a visit there as well. Back and forth we go with this kid. I still think he ends up Irish but he's definitely one of those kids where I won't really think he's Irish until he actually signs (and even then I might be skeptical!:bbanana:).

this is all journalists getting fans into a frenzy over nothing. he's just checking out schools. he likes nd and stanford the most and now he wants to check out nebraska. big whoop. they're just facts, not front page headlines.

there's no reason to think his commitment wont be solid without that signature. we're 11 months from signing day. he's more than entitled to look at any school without us being skeptical. he may have positive things to say about nebraska too but that wont mean he's changed his mind like everyone thought after the stanford visit.

completely agree. Even if this kid verbally commits I will be skeptical until national signing day.

i'm sure recruits are a bit skeptical of our program since we haven't put together a decent season since 2006. we have more to prove than they do. if we stumble out of the gates this year we'll lose lots of guys who were nd leans at one point.

Just visited Nebraska. Said it was a good visit. Either it was only an OK visit, or he learned his lesson not to talk about how GREAT the trip was and how the new school was now the leader. He's getting looks from other schools now, like Illinois, but his top 4 are still the schools he's already visited: ND, Stanford, Wisconsin and Nebraska...
