Just saw a update on Irish Illustrated. It says, "Starling back in play for Irish?" This one could get interesting in the next 24 hours.

Woo Hoo! I really hope we get him. DB's from Lincoln HS are usually very good. Although I do see why he originally chose USC, as he helped his former HS teammate, T.J. Byrd, to go to USC because of their depth chart. It shocked me that Georgia was not even in the race for Starling.

This is awesome,, I'm really starting to think he realized that SC is stacked and wants to have a chance to play early at ND...

An article recently posted on Rivals about Pete Caroll's press conference regarding his recruiting class states that Starling committed to USC today but as of right now is yet to have faxed in his LOI. This might bode well for us and would just be the icing on top of what already is a delicious cake.

Also, UCLA stole Randall Carroll from USC, meaning Troy lost two WR commits today, four if you count Shaq Evans and Morrell Pressley to the Bruins.

this would be the kicker if it is true. in a position of need and to take one from the rival team. starling is a talented kid that i would love to see in the irish uniform. come on over and be apart of the birth of the irish dynasty

Some info from the SC forums:

Please don't shoot the messager but here's is what I was told: As some of you know, I am good friends with John Jackson (having lunch with him today in Westwood - sorry, I promise we'll insult some Bruins while we are there!).

Anyway, when I spoke to him last night he told me that Starling is definitely not a done deal for us yet. He IS still considering going to ND given we recruited so many guys in the secondary. I think he'd be a solid commitment if he does send in his LOI, but if ND gets him I won't lose too much sleep over it given we salvaged B. Moore.

bump....what's the latest? I heard from a credible media source that Starling is not taking phone calls. However, he has been listening to what Notre Dame has to say over the last 24 hours.

How bad would it be for USC to lose another recruit to us, especially after he announced that he would choose USC?

I don't understand these kids some times. U$C has a crowd of players at every position, why in the world would Starling and others even sign if they might not play. It's plain as day how many position players U$C has and how crowded it is there.

Is it because they want to be on a winning team, play part time or not at all? Both Moore and Starling should have signed with ND for an education and playing time. ND will rise again and very soon!
