I did not think you were ripping, just not sure about where it was headed...
I got the degree in History knowing that I would get a grad degree. I was looking into PhD in History, Law, and MBA.
I decided on MBA since it seemed the most interesting for me. I took a few classes in undergrad business at the U of Minnesota to make sure. And then I applied to the MBA programs. I got into ND, Wake Forest, Vandy, and Case Western.
Wake Forest was giving away Apple laptops to it's students...so I struck them out since no real business used Macs in 1995. Vandy was in the South thus my wife and I were scared I would get a job down there...so they were out. Case is a great school but it's in Cleveland. I love Cleveland, but my wife hated it.
Then we visited ND...wow, just wow...we were blown away at the fact that it was almost as nice as our undergrad school. (I went to
Earlham College)
After the interview, I knew I wanted to go there. My class was the first one in the College of Business Administration (now named Mendoza...). They didn't even have the handrail installed in the circular staircase yet!
Now I am a Project Manager in Software Development for Boston Scientific Corp. I was at Intel for almost a decade as well.
Overall, I loved the program...loved the faculty...I found the international students to be the most interesting...the football was terrific. I only wish I spent more time in the middle of campus...but being married I lived a couple miles away so I tended to be in class, in the library, or at home.
