Slow down there. Love the enthusiasm, but we are playing Hawaii here. Need to have a great spring; guys need to get bigger and faster and just plain better; need to get a new line coach and a new philosophy, and we need to beat down Nevada to start the year. Then we can start making predictions about how good we are. It's just one game against a non-BCS school.

But you're right, what a Christmas present!!!!! The young studs are ballin', which makes it even better...

With the Schedule we have and the returning players why not go out on a limb and say 12-0.

It was a great Christmas present. I am happy right now, and am not going to take any more from it than that. I will worry about 2009 in 2009.

Because we have the same playmakers at skilled positions returning and we didnt belong on the same field as USC this year.....sorry, but its the truth.

i agree ndinla, the post you quoted is exactly what needs to NOT happen. this win cannot affect how much these guys need to work hard and improve over the winter and into the spring. i could see some kids heads getting a little bit TOO big especially if they start hearing 12-0 type stuff off of the one win.

back to work next week fellas!

the game was great, I kept thinking why didnt we play like this all year? anyway, i thought all phases of the game were superb. I even liked the play calling - the screen pass for Allen was a perfect call...Great game and it shuts up alot of ppl for the off season. (Mark May can you hear me????)

After the way we played this year, all I can do is hope and pray, I certainly don't think we'll be 12-0 after one performance against Hawaii!?!

It really was an enjoyable game to watch, I didn't know what to think when we were scoring one passing touchdown after the next.

haha - i kept expecting the wheels to blow off, like in the 2nd half of the Tar Heel game. I told my girlfriend when the game was 21-7, "All we need to do is continue to play exactly like we have, and this game is over."

I was nervous when we decided to bring in the backup qb, we've all seen Charlie take his foot off the gas pedal to early. It's discouraging to think we could have won a few more games when it was within our grasp to hold onto decent leads.

great win and i'm glad the streak is finally over, but i'm like a few that already have stated....let's not get ahead of ourselves. enjoy the win, but let's keep things in perspective. the boys need to continue working hard this offseason and use this win as a stepping stone. next up nevada.

You know I think a lot of people are going to discount this win because it was against Hawaii. But I think the success had more to do with how ND played than who they played. The whole team was playing with an energy and confidence that I have never seen before. Syracuse is by far a worse team than Hawaii, and look at how that game turned out.

Aloha Irish faithful!!! What a great game the Hawaii Bowl was indeed. I had the opportunity to meet some of the players, coaches, and players parents. Really nice people if you ask me. I am so pumped about the 2009 football season. Onward to victory GO IRISH!!!!!!!

I had to work so I had the internet on my phone blazin' and the text messages from my buddy comin'. Early on he say, "we are gonna kill these guys". I told him not to count the chickens just yet, reminding him of when he predicted a slaughtering of Carolina after the first drive. He preceeded to count chickens with points, until he got tired cause we scored to many chickens. How wonderful!

Jimmy was unbelievable, and it is about time. I will not predict 12-0, but if we don't win 10 games Charlie needs to get the hell out of town. He recruited studs and now it is time to win consistantly. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!! 10-2 at least in '09

Completely agree. When you have an opponent down with your foot on his neck, you keep the pressure on until you hear that SNAP! I think we quite possibly would have won three more games this year if they had kept the pressure on.
