I just watched the "Irish Sports Report" on TV, and they stated Gary Gray didn't make the Hawaii trip due to personal reasons. Anyone have any info? They did say that Lambert will be good to go. We will need all the DBs we can take. Other interesting note, they mentioned that Hawaii was the second worst team in sacks allowed or something to that effect. Update Hawaii Football Ranking Summary

Hawaii is 107th in rush offense, dead last in PR (119th) and 118th in sacks allowed.

They lost to Utah St. well that's good news, Utah St. is really bad. I used to live in Logan,UT that's where Utah St. is located. Utah St. usally wins 2-3 games a year, so if they can beat Hawaii, we should be able to..............

Very true. As long as we don't underestimate them (like we did with SD State and Syracuse), we should win this game. Damn, I'm almost as excited today as I was a few days before the season opener. Wednesday can't come quick enough!

Utah St. beat Hawaii 30 - 14.

That's why they play the game. ND better knock some dick early.

I was thinking the same thing. And then I remembered after a bunch of screens and uninspired play, I'd come right back to reality.

They still had a nice season with a rookie coach, QB problems, June Jones leaving, etc...

They beat New Mexico State.

New Mexico State coach Hal Mumme (former Kentucky coach) got fired.

Maybe Ty should look into the job. Could be a stepping stone job.

NMS is actually a nice little program... no shame there

as far as Hawaii not being able to run or allowing sacks.... they do a five step drop on just about every single play so compared to other teams those stats are VERY misleading... I still say we smash them....

Hmmmm. in the press conference Charlie didn't sound too interested in answering questions about Gary. They asked if Gary was a part of the Notre Dame team, he said Gary isn't here......makes me wonder. "Gary is at home with his family."

Im just guessing but possibly what happened to gary is the same thing that happened to walls last year. ACADEMICS.... finals grades came out and his probably were not high enough. maybe he will attend holy cross in the spring...i hope. he was a 5*recruit at one time on rivals. downgraded of course when he committed to ND.

Okay, still really no news on Gary Gray, hoping he stays on the team, but who knows. I still believe it is because of academics for Gray, and i still believe it is because of academics that walls was dismissed for the season until he met readmission standards. Got to love Notre Dames academic standards. Anyways, found the first article i have seen on the comeback of Darrin Walls. Figured some of my fellow ND fans would like to take a look. Link below.

Noticed this little quote from the article:

The last member of the traveling party is expected to return New Year's Eve. Irish head coach Charlie Weis was expected to be back today. He undergoes knee-replacement surgery on Monday.

I bet he is spending a little quality time with a certain recruit. Reel him in Charlie.

Sorry to get off topic a bit. Hope Gary Gray returns to give us one heck of a defensive backfield next year!

No prob, glad to do it. And i hope Gary and Walls are back for next season too Ultimate PS hater, but i dont know if that will be the case. I just wish the school and Charlie would give out some more info on what is going on.

I have a feeling Gray had issues relating to grades (just a guess). But I think both will be back. I'm really looking forward to seeing Walls, I'm sure he's hungry to play, and spring ball will shake off the rust.

Its not Weis who is staying til New Years Eve. It says the last member of the Irish travelling party is staying til then, but Weis is leaving "today" So depending on when that was written, he could have been gone a day or so after the game.
