They have the best wide receiver/qb combo most of you have never heard of:

Jarrett Dilliard (WR) 79 catches 1224 yards 19 td. Runs a 4.3
Chase Clement (QB) 296/446 3812 yards 41 td's 7 ints. Clement also has 142 carries for 621 yards with 11 touchdowns.

The only thing that scares me about Rice is they are the exact opposite of us right now... HOT... I think they have won 7 of their last eight or something... if they start out hot and we stumble out the gate we could beat ourselves mentally (sucks having to be so down on our guys mental toughness but obvioulsy)

BUT they haven't beaten anyone (like us) and all in all I think we match up very well agasint them... I'd like our chances HUGE against Rice and think we'd finally get the bowl win off our back...

I don't see CW having the ability to motivate this team for another three weeks. I think we will lose to whoever we face. Meanwhile, whoever we get matched up against is going to be fired up to beat the shit out of Notre Dame. It's a lose/lose situation for the Irish this bowl season

The only positive I see is that their total defense is 115th in div1A. That however didn't stop Syracuse, who was 108th in D, from beating us. I am very worried about this matchup. Syracuse's offense is ranked 115, Rice is 10th.

I see that BUT Syracuse also played West Virginia, Pitt, BC, Cinncy and the like whereas Rice played Texas and.............

Against Hawaii who last night gave 13th ranked and Big East champion Cincinnati fits last night. No mattter the Bowl it will be "embarrasing" for a program like Notre Dame, but they need the extra work and get that streak off their backs.
