Charlie got the best yougn QB in the country in Jimmy Clausen and he cant win with him. He's got 2 great receivers and he can't win with them. He's got a two great safties, 3 great LB's, and a great DT and he still cant win. I dont [care] if it sets us back 3, 4, or 5 years because the fact of the matter is Charlie cannot get it done. He should have stuck to coordinating.
1. Clausen is sure as hell not the best young QB in the country. He looks like he has all of the tools to be a great QB, but his play is inconsistent as hell. The jury is still out on him.
2. Those two great receivers are a true sophomore, and a true freshman. Tate has been playing well all year, but naturally it took Floyd a few games to really figure out what he was doing. And now he is out.
3. We have one very good safety, in Bruton. McCarthy tackles very well, making him a great run support guy. But his cover skills are average at best.
4. We don't have ONE great LB, let alone three. If you believe that we do, then it's no wonder that you want Weis fired. But the problem with that one is not Weis. It's you! Mo Crum is the best linebacker we have, and that's pretty average.
5. This one puzzles me the most. Who is this great DT you speak of? Is he on one of the interhall teams?
Based just upon your synopsis here, FC (which is by no means scientific nor necessarily accurate), I'm guessing that you expected 10 wins this year, and can't fathom that we didn't get there. Since the problem could certainly not be unrealistic expectations from *you*, then the problem must be with Weis, right?
