MY USC prediction

I'm going to make a point that I hope no one jumps down my throat, but I should probably know better.

Before I start I want to make it clear that I am in no way picking us to beat USC.

But I am curious to see how this team plays in a game that you have to get up for. In other words, it is clear Charlie cannot motivate his players. They come out flat nearly every game. But against USC, you just cant come out flat. I just dont think it is possible. If you are not up for this game, you might as well not have a pulse.

Again I am not picking us to win, I am just interested to see how we play in a game that provides emotion as opposed to us trying to find it.

no need for ripping. i like your post but i truly think ND won't be ready to play. they will come out flat and go 3 and out b/c charlie will be trying to "get a feel" for the game. he'll have the offense on their heels right from the start instead of in attack mode with 5 wide and no huddle. it seems to me that's where we are the best but since they don't do that much in the pros charlie can't go with it.

i thought the same thing as well but he continues to play conservative and i don't see saturday being any different. anyone see the early line on the game? w/o seeing it i say USC -28.

Why would you watch a game that you think we can't win?

That doesn't make any sense! If you don't believe then don't watch!

The only way you would understand is if you have played a competive sport. If you go in a game and you don't believe your probably gonna lose.

Obviously we haven't done well but I still believe we can win every game..... That's why I watch! Maybe I'm delusional but as an ND fan their is no other option!

I never said I didn't think we could win. All I said was that I haven't seen a game that this team had any fire or intensity. They show absolutely no emotion. They look like robots out there.

Tell me these quotes don't mean anything:

You may be delusional, but so am I. I do not think they will win. But does that mean there is zero chance? Of course not. Thats why they play the games.

I think sometimes we all need to be reminded of our fight song....

What though the odds be great or small, old Notre Dame will win overall

Does that mean we literally win every game? Obviously not, but if we as fans give up, then can we expect the players to do the same?

Trust me I know what Young said and what others have said.

All I am saying is that I am not giving up! I'll root for them no matter what, If its Weis or someone else!

Are team is backed in a corner and they are getting beaten up by the Media and everyone in the country, they love to see us down. We as fans should be behind the team and not be predicting how much were gonna lose by. How is that fun?

PADOMERNUT, that's a good point, and something I'd been curious about myself. One of the down sides to playing such a weak schedule is that you never have the opportunity to pull off that HUGE upset... I agree that it's easier to get up for a game against a national powerhouse than for one against a team you should trounce. It's the old "nothing to lose, so let it all hang out" type of attitude.

As much as I would LOVE to see it, common sense says there's very little chance of us eeking out a win. But, stranger things and bigger upsets have happened.

I'll be in front of the TV for the whole game either way. At least this week, if we lose, I won't have that horrible, sick feeling inside like I did this past Saturday, as this time the loss will not be a surprise.

I am hoping that ND comes out fired up and fighting for their coach. USC would still have to make A LOT of mistakes to have it even close. If we hang with them till halftime it could be a close win for USC (10-13 points) but if we are down by 2 TD+ i think we lose by 40 easy!

As much as I would like to say ND 38 - USC 34...I think it will be USC 52 ND 10. Shaq Evans and Cierra Wood both decommit less then 24 hours after the game! :-(

Good comment. Even if we lose 50-0, we can still get fired up about good plays and hit some people. It should be an interesting commentary on how much the squad really cares. Hopefully they aren't going into the game with mindset that most of us have, which is that USC is going to win by a minimum of 30 points.

I think they'll come out excited. I don't think it's going to translate in to any tangible results but it will be nice to see.

no sarcasm at all. I totally believe that ND will bring a great fight for this game. Who doesn't get up for a chance to play a top 5 team? Regardless of USC's reaction to this match up, I am sure Notre Dame will keep things respectful if not surprisingly close.

Golden Tate is proving to be a freak.

Blowouts like TTech/Okla occur out of shock, when they are not supposed to happen. But look at Wisc/Cal Poly... it should have not been close but it was.

USC 42 ND 17.....JC throws for 270 with 2TDs, but 3 turnovers with one being a touchdown. Kuntz rips off someones head for fun. Defense will play well, just will be on the field to much. OLine will get no push. Hopefully it will be pouring rain in Southern Cali...I can dream can't I.
