Brian Kelley would be sweet. That guy wins wherever he goes. He coached our hometown Grand Valley State to numerous National Championships and won 38 games in a row at one point. He's a classy guy and is fiery and would be a great fit for the Notre Dame program. Problem is....Hes not stupid enough to come here.

We just lost to a 2-8 team! If Florida or Texas or USC was to completely rebuild like we are, or as it should be WERE, they still wouldn't lose to 2-8 teams. Today was it and I'm sorry to say that.

Do you honestly want to suffer through next season? When does it end--do we honor his entire contract?

The difference between being an apologist and being delusional is that an apologist eventually recognizes that they were wrong or the "haters" recognize that the apologists were right. Someone who is delusional never recognizes that they are espousing the wrong ideas despite evidence that wholly contradicts their beliefs. Sorry, you're one of my main men on this board, but you're kidding yourself. The student body was pissed after we lost to Pitt....we followed that up by being shutout at BC, the students were pissed again.....we squeaked out a win at Navy which brought the clamor down to a dull roar.....then we lost to Syracuse. The student body doesn't design the game plan or coach the o-line. The student body doesn't call blitzes against a 2-8...err 3-8....team that can't pass worth shit when they are facing fourth down and goal on the 11 with less then a minute left. All we had to do was drop eight into coverage and that game is over but Tenuta called another fucking blitz. It's easy to make a shitty quarterback look great when his receivers have man coverage w/no help from the safeties over the top.

We have lost a ton of second half leads. We've lost those leads because even shitty coaches, like Greg Robinson, make halftime adjustments and we don't. This coaching staff seems to think that teams have static game plans when the reality is that game plans are dynamic--they change.

Sad.

we are not where we should be but that is totally false... we made MAJOR stride this year, last year Pitt, UNC and others woulod have creamed us... this year we should have beat them... now should of is NOT getting it done and NOT good enough I am with you, but saying we haven't improved is way off

This is REAL BAD, it will take notre dame years to get any respect again from the media.I care what the media has to say,I take pride wearing notre dame shirts and I've never gotten funny looks from anyone about wearing green around a bunch of "volunteer" orange unless it was self impossed thoughts in my head,but speaking of notre dame shirts,they aren't in the stores anymore after making a comeback a few years ago.They are pretty much gone again,just tennessee,texas, oklahoma, usc, and ohio state to name a few.

No misdirection plays, no veer, no fakes or real trickery, straight handoffs with the ball held out so far that everyone in the stadium can see the back getting the ball 7+ yards deep, one back sets except when we intend to "pound" the ball," the same passing and running plays. What a joke. It's pretty obvious when they are going to run and pass. The "O" line coaching has absolutely stunk for 3 years. Number 97 basically walked through the "O" line blocking on a number of plays. There were many missed assignments, AGAIN! That's just POOR COACHING.

Finally, someone on this site mentioned that we get these 4 star players at their peak with little upside and we should be getting players who can be developed. I wonder?

I was raised on ND and the Cubs. And year after year it's the same old. Especially the Cubs, now in our 101st year of futility. I may be dead before they ever win a World Series.

We need leadership on the Cubs, at ND and in our nation. Someone has to tell it like it is. The people would appreciate the honesty, it's about time to realize that the "OLD VALUES" are true. Dudes, I can understand the younger folks not having much to go on when it comes to
Irish tradition.

We were contending 15 years ago. Since then we have gone through coaches like the Oakland Raiders. Futility is starting to show. I say CW needs another mulligan let him try to step out of this with two good legs. Yes I said it. The guy is in constant pain and it shows on his face. He cant motivate looking like Grimace from the old McDonalds commercials. Motivation is done using posture and expression and verbage. I just think this team is unhealthy from the top right now. If he cant do it next year then its time to move on.

Solid material, Irishkid. I've wanted Latina summarily dismissed for quite a while. As far as developing players, well, you have to wonder if CW can develop talent. He proved that he can coach professionals, he proved that he can work with junior and senior laden college teams--he has yet to prove that he can develop a group of players from unproven high school stars to DI college contributors. I'm not willing to suffer through two seasons of 9-15 (aggregate record) football to get two seasons of 18-6 football every four years. USC, Texas, Florida and their like don't have to go through times like that and, because we compare ourselves to those programs, I don't know why we should either.

I think that CW designed that system. Belichek calls the plays on defense and he's always been a defensive coach so I don't think that he designed the offense. They probably kept the offense after CW left, much like the 49ers kept the West Coast Offense long after Bill Walsh's time there.
