I'm watching Georgia Tech right now and secretly have been following them all year...ha. Anyways, I've been so impressed with the way they play football. Paul Johnson really has that team going. Their option is even more unstoppable now that Johnson actually has legit talent to work with and they are passing a lot more...No surprise there either now that Johnson has weapons at WR to work with..That brings me to my next point..whenever Weis's tenure is over (I hope he succeeds), would you guys be happy with the hiring Johnson and bringing back the ole' option attack? I for one would enjoy it. As much as I like to see Jimmy zing it 50 yards down field and score 100 points, I always liked smashmouth football too...It seemed like yesterday I saw The Bus and Reggie Brooks rumble and stumble down the field..Could you imagine what Johnson could do with our talent? I think the only knock on him is recruiting..so just hire a staff who can recruit...speaking of big plays, GT has like 50 some plays over 20 yards! I support Weis as much as anybody and I really hope he takes us to a BCS bowl next year but I'm just wondering what my fellow domers think about this...

Paul Johnson is a great coach but to be honest he plays in the ACC.... How good is that conference

Plus he has installed an offense no one has seen yet. Lets see how he does next year.

Wasn't Tenuta the Defense Coordinator?

I would LOVE to see the option back at Notre Dame. With Paul Johnson as our coach it would be deadly. Gonna happen? NOPE. But it would be sweet.

I love the option, never understood why they got away from it. Aside from the fact that you really wouldn't attract the elite talent from year to year like back in the day.

Some of my fondest memories are watching the Irish run the option, I loved the Power T inside the 10 w/ the killer B's Bettis, Brooks, and Burris...God I love Lou Holtz.

jiminy christmas.... this is what I am talking about.
You wouldn't want Paul Johnson because he is doing so well in the ACC.... in his first year.... You don't think the ACC is very good. ....... CW is in his fourth year.... and...
ND is 0-2 against the ACC this year right? But you wouldn't want him.

Is that the same as the "Full House" backfield? Nothing to do with Bob Saget or the Olsen twins either.

Once again...HORRIBLE comparison. CW is in his 4th year, PJ is in his first. And you want to compare what CW is doing in his 4th what PJ is doing in his 1st??? How about comparing what CW did in his first? We all know what CW did. He took a bad team to a BCS BOWL. He almost beat the number team in the nation, with one of the top offenses of all-time, if not for an illegal play (we were singing his praises then, weren't we?). PJ has taken over a decent-to-bad team as well, has 3 losses already in a bad conference, lost to unranked Virginia and VTech, got hammered by NC, and BARELY beaten Gardner-Webb (they have a team???). Soooo, that's better than what CW did his first year?

See how easy it is to disparage someone. Call me in PJ's 4th year if you want to compare him to CW.

Now, the truth is that PJ has done an OUTSTANDING job this year. Better than CW first year. Nope.

Valid points, but you can only go on 3 years ago for so long. When the biggest win is a "loss" to U$C, something is wrong. I'm not saying CW isn't the answer, but we should have improved more this season. Millions of Americans are unemployed, yet Latina is still making more than almost all of them. Time for a change. mini-rant over.

Haha, all I have been hearing is how the Irish beat up on a navy team and then, almost lost. We lost to them last year (lowest point in Irish history according to some in here) Now correct me if I am wrong. We want their former coach to coach us? Are we now admitting that Navy was and has been pretty good? Or what?

The one thing I'll admit is that Johnson is a very good coach who seems to get the maximum production from the talent he has. CW has proven he can recruit well but a lot of posters (including me) are wondering if he can get the most out of these blue-chippers.

dude, you are a mess. listen carefully.... I am typing slowly because you obviously don't think swiftly.

Someone ELSE said... that PJ wasn't doing a very good job because winning in the ACC was apparently not impressing him enough... and that he wouldn't consider PJ as a desirable coach.

I merely pointed out that Notre is 0-2 against this weak ACC... losing to teams that are currently 3rd and 4th in their divisions within the ACC.

So what would impress? If GTech wins the ACC? BCS Birth? BCS win? Only a Notre Dame fan like HIM, would turn his nose up at that as not a good enough consideration to coach ND.

That is all I said.

Again... you are a mess. I do know much more about this sport than you. You know Tom Luginbill by watching ESPN. I know Tom Luginbill from coaching him in his high school senior all star game. You know the heisman is a trophy given out to college players that do not attend Notre Dame. I coached Rashaan Salaam in that game as well before he went on to win the heisman. You are excited to get that new Fathead hung over the inflatable Notre Dame licensed furniture. I will be attending my third Super Bowl this upcoming year.... on the field... not in the stands. You watch Jim Gray on tv. I worked with him on the field in Super Bowl XXXII. You are THAT guy.. the super fan.

... it would be interesting if ND landed GT in the Gator Bowl.

True, true. The jury is still out on that. I like the Navy team. Like Johnson too. I was trying to point out that they were good in recent years because they had a good coach ad a no quit attitude. So they are not the cupcake everyone claims they are.

Ummm, did you smoke pot with him as well?

OK, let's go through this slowly:

A. Your boy is Ty. Who's the mess?

B. You are a troll. You admit that you don't even like ND, but you spend time on here like you are a real fan. If you don't like us, dude, get a life. Who's the mess?

C. You refer to yourself on a website as "scoutgod". Ego anyone? You consider yourself a god, and refer to yourself as one so that everyone knows. Who's the mess?

D. You're a namedropper!!! What a loser! Hey, I went to Justin Tuck's wedding this past April, and even hung out with the guy. Or to put it in your terms: You dream about sacks, but I went to the best QB sacker in the league's wedding. You're THAT guy who dreams about that stuff. Hey everybody, look at me while I name drop!!!! (I won't tell you who and what I know, 'cause I'm not that guy (name-dropper guy). Just read some of my posts from the past. I'm not a genius, but I do know a wee bit about football. You're the guy who backs Ty. Who's the mess?

E. The only reason I quoted you is because you are so easy to rile up and you are a troll. I could have cared less about what you said. In fact, I didn't even reference you. I just talked about what a bad comparison it was. You trolls are easier than I thought. And I thought the Greek 'gods' were easily angered; look at you scoutgod! Who's the mess?

F. PM me, and I'd love to compare football knowledge. Your namedropping won't save you there. You'll give me a bunch of stats and how Mr. X told you that Ty was a great coach, and I'll tell you what see in the games, which you'll refute w/ "But he rushed for 4.32578 yards per carry, so that means he's better!" You take a calculator, and I'll take my eyes and my years of experience in football.

G. ND has never had a Heisman winner? According to you, no. Hmmm. News to me. Who's the mess?

H. I root for ND. I LOVE ND. I'm getting married next year at the school. I'm not myopic, but I believe in my team. You, on the other hand, are a troll who doesn't even like ND, but likes to bag on those who do, and has to sit and waste their time on another team's message board. This is the only message board I frequent. The only one. But you probably are on a ton of them, bragging and name-dropping all along the way. Who's the mess?

I'm through with you. Go IRISH!!!!

Anyone who criticizes CW, I can't really argue with. I think he's the guy, but I'm not stupid. He deserves some criticism. I just think the PJ comparison is invalid at this point...

this is so funny. Listen clown.... I didn't say ND had no Heisman winner... I said the heisman is something you know of as a a trophy ND players don't win.. as in your program is weak.... for 20 years it has been... newsflash. ..

Congrats on working a wedding. Catering is a great way to get cash after college. ...but I will still take having a football related career over... what? standing near a guy that plays?

Remember you are saying that CW is a better coach than Paul Johnson. That is what you said. Find some other people here to agree with that.

I ignore you.
So NDinLA, I suggest you watch ND:
Handle Syracuse well.
Get crushed by USC.
get laughed your way out of another bowl game.

Win 8 or 9 games next year (3 of those wins are the among the worst ten in football, just like this year)...
get crushed by USC
get laughed out of another bowl game... or even worse... win the Sun Bowl. A high water mark for teams like Notre Dame, or IndianaU.

and by the way if you really knew much about football you would know the term scoutgod. It is not really an ego thing.

.... lastly.. and this is lastly.. I enjoyed my week in here. Most of you in here are decent, knowledgeable fans... I think you are just adorable, NDinL.A. You are surrounded by USC fans and still keeping up a fight. You are the "Rudy of Orange County". Congrats. I hope that Fathead sticks up there for ya.

If you are who you say you are. (football expert) Then the twenty year weakness you speak of about ND football is referring to the last National Championship. So are you saying they were not relevant in the early and mid nineties? Granted, 15 years is still a long time but it is not twenty. I also recall some ten win seasons and top 15 finishes after that. I also think that Irish players comprise a fairly high number in the NFL. Always have. So that in itself is reason to watch them. Future pros. All programs go through down periods. some that go through them were not on top for all that long anyway. Look at Florida, Florida St., even Miami. They have not been dominant for decades. Hell, they have only been major programs for 20 to 25 years. The Irish have been relevant in every decade, arguably not this one, but it aint over yet.

I can accept that. I truly follow Holtz and think he is, even now, an underrated coach. 1988 was a great year. West Virginia was a worthy opponent that year. I can agree with what you are saying. NDinLA has some sort of crush on me. It's natural in young men his age to question things about himself. So he is working through some issues. Pretty much everyone on here is very impressive with their passion for the Irish. It has been fun to sit in on some chats during a long week off. ND in LA and the Neutered guy have some identity issues, demonstrated in bouts of irrationality and anger. We must be patient.

I don't root for or against Notre Dame. I don't root for Ty or against CW. I love this sport and when Notre Dame is great, everything is better. The only thing I have to say on these boards is that ND fans should have perspective and be a little objective in their assessment and call things for what they are. I wish JC hadn't set himself up like he did. I do admire him for how he handled last year's mess though.

You still want more after that ass beating you just took last night? What a loser.

Hey TROLL, you are a joke (and really a mess). In one post you are bagging on ND fans and ND in general, and the next you sound like a decent guy who knows what he's talking about (when we all know that you're not a decent guy, hell, you refer to yourself as a god and you are a namedropper).

So, you come on an ND board, in the MIDDLE OF FOOTBALL SEASON. You claim to coach all these guys and you're in all these clinics and blah blah blah, but yet you have time to spend on a board that isn't even your team? And we all know you spend time on other boards as well. Dude, get a life! P.S. Coaching flag football doesn't count as 'scouting'. Sorry.

So, you come to a ND board and you say our program is weak and has been for 20 years. And that we're going to get laughed out of 2 straight bowl games. Again, sorry we fired your boy Ty. No, really, I'm sorry. It's not your fault Will. Will, it's not your fault. Look at me son. It's not your fault Will. (You really need a life if you have to come and tell others their program is weak and has been for 20 years, even though we were ranked as high as 5 just 2 years ago, and were also highly ranked during your boy Ty's first year. Struggling? Yes. Weak for 20 years, only a troll or Phork would say that).

Keep smoking that pot with Rashaan. Sorry you got so offended when I namedropped (which, again, is beyond tacky). Wasn't catering at the wedding, was chillin with good Southern folk. While you get water for those football players at your clinics that you're so busy at, just keep telling yourself that Adam Sandler was a water boy too and they eventually let him play foosball as well. You have hope waterboy!!!

As far as being rational, dude, get a clue. I predicted 8 wins this year, and we'll hopefully get there. Again, I'm not myopic, I'm a realist. The reason you hate me is because i called you out on your hatred for ND and your love for Ty and proved that CW's team in his first first 7 games was more impressive than Ty's. Sorry. Again, it's not your fault Will. Look at me son, it's not your fault!

(Thought you were leaving? i knew you wouldn't. Keep walking with your tail between your legs. Then you'll turn around, drop some more names, rip ND and myself, and look stupid)

Living in Atlanta, I can't tell you how good of a coach Paul Johnson is. Everyone here thought GT was very to win maybe 5 games. Last night they had 472 yards rushing. This guy is a great coach as showcased with Georgia Southern, Navy, and GT. I love watching his offense and glad we don't have to play GT in the future.

He has a very successful offensive scheme. he has been a winner where ever he has coached at. GT is a very dangerous team to play as the Canes found out last night.

Thanks for getting back on the subject..ha. I'm glad you guys agree for the most part with me..if we did in fact hire Johnson in the future, I would be ecstatic and excited to see what he could do with the best talent he's ever had...not to mention how many elite RB's would be dying to come here...

No anger. No irrationality. No identity crisis. MOTHER FUCKIN RAGE

Sweetheart, have you experienced that yet?

Knock on my door and find out what happens to your puppy's nostrils. I think you have a crush on me - why single me out over all the other posters?.

I charge for my service, but I ask in advance that you spread and pre-K-Y your butt cheeks. Warm up that sphincter - it's gonna get a workout.
