Can anyone kick the damm ball????

I have been impressed with how the team is starting to play but there is one thing I just don't understand. How can a well-known major university have so much trouble finding a kicker who can consistantly make a field goal? Hell, the woman's soccer team in ranked #1, so recuit one of them to kick! This kicking game is going to cost us a win sometime!

I still have not seen a perfect snap. The only attempt I watched, the holder caught the ball to his left, then had to twist and place the ball. Microseconds mean a lot.

He's 1-7. The holder has had plenty of time to put the ball down because he takes a long time to approach the ball after the snap. It's a miracle that more kicks haven't been blocked. I haven't heard any of the analysts on NBC or ABC (vs. MSU) talk about bad snaps and I sure as hell haven't noticed any terrible snaps the last two weeks.

Whenever i see Brandon Walker kick i cringe... Then i think about how back Burkhart msut be to not give him at least a chance. then it almsot makes me feel better

Come on, guys! The kicking game is improving. The last two games we actually got good saps, good holds and got the kick in the neighborhood of the goalposts with enough distance. I see definite improvement.

I do not care who is doing what in practice BW sucks in games and someone needs to be given a chance to kick...I do not care if it is Kuntz!

Maybe they should run all the plays to the middle of the field, so that he want have to aim. He can just kick it straight. This guy has trouble kicking anything other than an XPt. It's sad. I kind of feel for him.

give another kid a shot. maybe the time on the bench will light a fire somewhere under him or maybe another kicker gets his shot and hangs onto the job. i could care less who's feelings get hurt as long as we find someone who can boot it through the uprights for 3. one of these games it's going to cost us dearly. can you imagine if we have a chance to beat USC by 1 and we miss a 30 yrd fg? let's figure the sht out.

We all feel sorry for BW. I can't imagine, wouldn't want to imagine, what it's like to be in his shoes. The problem is that he hasn't cost us a game....yet. When that happens the sympathy will quickly escalate into rage. Hopefully CW doesn't give him the chance to make that scenario a reality.

I agree with the first post.... how can a university with this tradition and backing not find a good kicker 7 years out of ten... this has been a problem for two decades now...

hell if you think we could get any position filled with ease every year youd think it would be kicker... aren't they supposed to be smart kids more often than not???

I gone from kinda angry about the FG thing to completely feeling bad for the guy. Can you imagine what he is going through on campus? He probably won't get a date until he makes one. That sucks. I hope he makes one soon, so that all the ladies eager to congratulate him can come out of the woodwork

Yeah, but definitely NOT accurately! Taking in consideration all aspects of how the Irish have performed on FG (snaps, holds, and the kicks of course) if I was Charlie I'm not sure I would ever put the FG unit back on the field all year!

I'm being a little facetious here, but it is indeed "painful" watching the Irish FG unit come onto the field and TRY to execute! Actually, it's damn tough to watch!!! This past Sat. against Stanford, sitting up in the stands hoping and praying for them to just kick one thru the uprights .... damn tough to watch!!!

i think there will probably be some changes this week, we need to be able to rely on a kicking game if the drive sputters especially down in chapel hill.

but man just think how much better some of these victories would have looked if he did make his kicks. it would have been 34-21 yesterday, and 41-21 against purdue and i cant remember the msu game but im sure it would have made it look a little more respectable.
