Clausen for me. I hated him as a recruit I thought he was a cocky punk, he has turned out to be quite humbe and a normal kid. Once we get a little diversity and develop a little more offensively he is going to take off. He has unreal talent. I watch all these other QB's every Saturday and Jimmy is more talented than 95% of them. It's time to put it together.

being from SoCal I ook at it a little differently. Who do I think could possibly plau on USC...? Not too many of them. On D maybe Brian Smith and David Bruton.
On Offense not sure if anyone would see the field.

I like the picks so far but like everyone I would like to see the guys sustain and build on the positives. Until the O-line blocks for the run and the d-line gets a sack they won't be on the list.

I want to see Aldridge get the ball at least 10 times this week. He's faster than Hughes and stronger than Allen. I think he can be the most consistent.

1. Golden Tate - loads of potential
2. Jimmy Clausen - I really want to see him break out
3. David Bruton - our best defensive player

Mike Anello is my favorite player.
Great choice! Hard to not appreciate him.

My favorite right now is probably Kerry Neal...wish he'd pick it up a bit though.

Clausen doesn't even make the top 5. Still don't like him. Really didn't like the showboating (minor by comparison to some) he did after his TD passes vs scUM....motioning to the crowd with the hand gestures. Thought it was pretty cocky and unnecessary. I know a lot of you probably thought it was great....that's just the way sports are these days. Give me the QB that runs to the end zone and congratulates his WR any day; I don't need to see "look at me" gestures on your way there. IOW, I'll take a Barry Sanders over a TO or Ocho Stinco any day of the week.

Golden Tate is also awesome though after that long TD last week it sure looked like he was seconds from pulling his helmet off in the end zone. Man, when he grabbed his chinstrap to unbuckle it, I was screaming "NOOOOOO!" You could see the official walking towards him saying something....wonder if it was a friendly reminder? Either way it made me cringe...that ain't ND.

NDGetty, I am exactly with you on this one. One of the reasons I randomly chose ND as my favorite team as a youngster was because they were the only team that didn't showboat. My perception was that they simply went to work every play and hugged each other after a score, then quickly got their butts back to the sidelines - as if they would get scolded if they came home late.

Although I appreciated "Shark", I cringed when he taunted the Stanford defense after one of his scores. I lost some respect for him after that, and I vocalized my displeasure among the crowd I was with.

They told me to shut up and enjoy the touchdown.

Lots of names have been mentioned here as favorites, and it appears that all those mentioned all selling out for ND football, and worthy of mention. I don't remember perceiving any "ND football sellouts" last year, other than Zibby and Thomas, but that is probably because the team was so young and scared.

I don't think any receiver compares with Tate though. He SELLS HIS SOUL to catch a ball. Almost all of his catches - last year included - are near miraculous. Other receivers so far have caught easily catchable passes from a very accurate Clausen. I am able to look past the hype and watch the game in front of me. Actions are louder than words.

like almost all of them, but Crum is the heart and soul of this team. He may not be the best player, but he's done things the right way his whole career, both on and off the field, and he always plays with passion.

I like Clausen and Tate on offense, I like the Golden-Clausen connection. ON defense Sergio Brown is all over the field.

I am going to go with Kyle McCarthey. That guy plays hard.

On offense, I would say, James Aldridge. Not sure what other people are looking at but I think he is the best of the 3. Allen is too weak, gets tackled ways to easy. Hughes is great for short yardage but for my money I would play Aldridge.
