Can we keep discussion relevant to LaLota and his recruitment status with Notre Dame?

Lalota-Offered, Interested in Notre Dame, current teammate of Tyler Stockton, who is already committed to ND, recently cut his list to seven with us listed at the top followed by flordia. Yeah, when there are updates somebody generally will post about it and u can read it. But as long as the conversation has the basis of the recruit and schools that are recruiting for his services, i think it thats okay right YouCantCoach? And even if there is slight side conversation, we are all ND fans, so a lil penn state hate isnt hurting anybody as long as it doesnt go overboard. Peace Love Charity Stinks, sincerely IA.

Does anyone know how his visit went with the skunkbears? I really hope we end up with him, but who knows.

unfortunately "good" is about all he said about the visit. similar to what he's said about visits to Rutgers, Virginia, ND and Michigan.

he now plans on waiting until the end of his season, unless he becomes certain before then. no official visits scheduled at this time.

Maybe he's really torn between 2 or 3 of these teams and he wants to see how their season goes before making that big commitment. If Rutgers and scUM teams are only mediocre this year and ND is surprisingly outstanding (and he likes their playing scheme) that pendulum could swing the Irish way!

The flip side to that is that those teams are really bad and we're really good, so he sees the opportunity to play right away at those 2 schools whereas at ND he won't want to sit behind the entrenched starters. Not saying that will happen (praying our good/great year will entice even more recruits), but look at what happened to us last year. We had the worst year of all-time and our recruiting class was number 2 in the nation. These kids saw us as a first-class university w/ a first-class coaching staff AND a chance to play right away. Don't think that doesn't play into their minds. And Rutgers has been recruiting their as**s off, so it never surprises me anymore when a recruit chooses them. Let's hope he makes the right decision, however, and go with a program on the rise...

Hun planning to keep bar high - NJ.com

Tyler Stockton, an Atlantic County native who has given his verbal commitment to attend Notre Dame, anchors the defensive line at the nose tackle position alongside Lawrenceville native Anthony LaLota, a defensive end who is widely regarded as one of the state's top unsigned recruits. LaLota is expected to make his college intentions clear in the coming weeks, with Michigan and Penn State believed to be his current top two choices.

can't really say that's surprising.

If so, should there be any concern that Stockton jumps ship and goes with him?

No. at least nothing has been said even remotely like that. In the past they said it would be fun to play together, but never that one's decision would affect the other to that point.

to the contrary, Stockton has said he will continue recruiting Lalota to ND.

It appears Lalota may be announcing tonight. The info that has come out has put Michigan and PSU up at the top. And there have been no rumblings from the ND recruiting guys to give reason to believe otherwise.

If Lalota is off the board how does the D Line recruiting end up? It seems like the only other D lineman ND has a decent shot at is Bonds and Ikard. Do we only end up with Stockton? By getting 5 last year it's not a pressing need but i was hoping for 2-3 this year to keep the train rolling.

DE Davon Custis is also a prospect. He will be at the Michigan game for an unofficial visit; he's saving his official to ND for later in the season. So if he at least for now plans to visit a 2nd time, that can only be good.

I hope seeing the campus does the trick because Rivals has his interest "high" on Boston College and "low" on ND. Like you said though, I find it hard to believe a recruit has low interest when he's taking 2 trips.

going off the profiles is somewhat misleading too, b/c i don't think either of the sites update recruit profile interest levels very often.

I read a couple places that the sites are really stumped as to who he is actually going to pick. Hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised.

Maybe he'll help put an end to all the "get rid of Coach Weis" posts by pulling a Jimmy Chitwood and saying "Coach stays, I play. He goes, I go!"

He hasn't announced on Lemming's show yet, but he said the two players he speaks with a lot are Tyler Stockton (his teammate) and Carlo Calabrese. If that doesn't scream out ND, what does???

He was promised exclusive time with Bo's Bone(r). In the end...just a little much to pass up.

Just sayin'

Hopefully we will stomp the skunkbears tomorrow, and Stockton will be able to talk trash to Lalota.

Just gonna throw this thought out there, i don't know if anybody else would feel this way but i hate dick rod and i wouldn't put it by him. Anybody else think that LaLota was committed prior to yesterday but DickRod asked him to wait before the ND game to give his committment for an extra boost because this game would be so big? In my eyes, i wouldnt put it past him.
