Way to go Charlie! After the dismal 3-9 record and last years' 38-0 thumping by Michigan, CW had to make negative remarks about the Michigan program during the spring game weekend. Now Michigan has studied those remarks all week long leading up to tomorrows' game. Nothing like giving our opponent more motivation. In my HUMBLE opinion, not a good idea especially when we were supposedly sound asleep during the first three quarters last week. We will find out soon enough which team has more motivation to win tomorrow. He could have done without those remarks. He better start backing up his arrogance with some big victories. If we win tomorrow, then this thread will be pointless and I am making much of nothing. I just remember Holtzs' poor mouthing benefited the irish more so than not. Back in 1988 ranked #1 going into USC as 9 point underdogs, the LA press asked Lou how he felt about being underdogs after sending Tony Brooks and Ricky Watters home for being late to Friday nights' team dinner, Lou cleverly responded by saying that we did not belong on the same field as the trojans and that he was considering forfeiting the game. He knew that USC was listening and we spanked them the next day. Classic Lou. I hope that I am eating my words about this post after tomorrows' game rather than Charlie. IDIOT!!

This has been covered and recovered and covered again. This is a non-story and the media would like to hype up a bunch of nothing said to a group of ND alumni back in the spring. How is this relavant at all? Whatever.

Wow. Way to stay on top of all these late breaking stories, tradition.

The arcticle was originally covering this in April, at an alumni lunch, where he was talking about Michigan trying to poor mouth their chances, or actually set up there excuses for losing before the game. His point was hell w them, Just like Bo used to say, To Hell With Notre Dame. Charlie has also addressed this over the last week in several articles.

You can get all worked up about it if you choose, but Charlie aint Lou. He is blunt. We have seen that over the last 4 years and Mich is just trying to work themselves up, so let em. If you think that will be the reason we lose (if we lose) I respectfully do not agree.

I am sorry to bore you with my post. Since I am new to this forum, I am not aware that it has been covered a million times already. In response to relevancy, that is your opinion. Did I not say " IN MY HUMBLE OPINION". Yes I feel it is relevant. If the irish win tomorrow, then you can say that his arrogant comments were not relevant. Now you can yawn again and go back to being bored.

My apologies, tradition. The yawn was a little inapproprate, but this has been covered plenty just this week alone, not including back in April when it actually happened.

Personally, in my humble opinion, I can say these comments were not relevant even if the Irish lose. We chose to disagree here. I'm OK with that.

We can certainly disagree. I am also aware that the story broke months ago and I am aware of Bo's comments. However, why act like Bo. Why say anything negative about them at all in public. Save the trash talking for behind closed doors to your team to fire them up. Why not kill Michigan with kindness in public so maybe they are a little complacent and whip them in the game. Then again you and I apparently think differently on this matter. This is CWs' 4th year and he needs to win tomorrow. You are probably right in that his comments probably won't have anything to do with tomorrows' outcome but I do not think they will help. It is fine to be blunt but he will be thought of as a blow hard if he does not start showing significant improvement. Is it okay for me as a fellow nd grad to be critical of the coach. I would love for him to prove me wrong and bring us a victory tomorrow.

He said this back in April, not game week. He said what mot coaches say in Alumni meeting, and I thought it was kinda cool with the whole Schembeckler thing. But obviously some folks don't get it.
