He threw the ball high in the air. The rules say don't do it. The NCAA sent reminders to all the teams. He broke the rule, he paid the price..."note to self, don't break the rules."

That kid did not throw the ball the ball in the air to show the other team up. These kids are playing a game that you have to play with alot of emotion and passion. I agree some celebration are stage and all about showing off. I also feel the ref had know choice to make the call. It's the dumb ass rule that's the problem. Notre Dame against USCUM and Claussen does the same thing. We all would be in a uproar over a call like that. Some cats might even wish bodily harm against the ref who made such a call. So let not be hypocrite's. Washington was robbed.

Whether the PAT was from 20 yards out or from 35 or even 50... it got blocked. It didnt go wide right or wide left where distance would have mattered, it got blocked.

It still changed the outcome. We don't know, maybe they would have gone for 2 and the win. Maybe they're not all pissed off about the bogus call and are able to concentrate on blocking. It was a BS call and we'd all be screaming if it were ND. The refs shouldn't be able to affect the outcome of a game. They did, even if it was only slightly.

I have to agree. I did not like the call. Locker was just playing with emotion, and as a football player in that situation it would be very hard not to become overcome with emotion. He wasn't showing up the other team at all. If I remember right the very next thing he did was jump into one of his teammates arms. Come on he was not showing up anyone.

The rule book also says a teammate can not push the ball carrier forword to help his forword progress but I guess it's okay to enforce some rules and not enforce others......

LOL reps.....That is in the rule book too, and I think most of us are still mad about that no call.

I agree with this rule if it involves taunting or showing the other team up. But this was ridiculous. Yes, it is in the rule book. However, if you go by the strictest interpretation of the rule, Samarzdjia would have been flagged on his touchdown against UCLA in '06 when he waved his arms with the ball as he crossed the goal line and then dropped the ball the way he did.

Let them celebrate a possibly tying touchdown in the final seconds. They are kids and the game should be played at least with some passion and joy.
