...Not any of that environmentalist stuff; I don't know much of anything about tree-hugging.
But, this past Sunday, we went to my wife's family's annual picnic. When we got there, one of my wife's cousin's kids, who is a good kid, but obviously a little misguided, was wearing a U$C shirt.
THE KID
I asked him how much he paid for such a fine piece of clothing. "Eight bucks," he answered. (Obviously, such hideous things are found in bargain bins.) I told him I'd give him 20 dollars to throw the damn thing in the fire.
After not much consideration, he said "Twenty bucks is twenty bucks" and the deed was done.
Of course, as the shirt was burning, I'm sure it polluted the atmosphere somewhat, but who cares? I was doing my part to make the world a little more (Notre Dame) green... But more importantly, I was trying to make the world a little less red!
