IMO this is what Miami spent this week doing with Folo and Matthews. Just upping the bid hoping the other doesn’t match till towards no. Probably smart business to just have us pay more but you’re fighting the Catholic Church and Oil with those two battles
Cocaine business isn’t what it used to be. We lose this one in the 80’s.

I can’t recall Jamie U on ISD ever giving an nd commit a 99 rating. Any historians remember any others?

He’s gotta be the highest ranked DT recruit ever for ND, right?
'Ever' is a very long time....

I submit in the pre-Internet days:

*Mike McCoy Erie Pa Cathedral('66 ND Frosh recruit)
2 time HS AA

*Steve Niehaus Cincinnati Moeller ('72 ND Frosh recruit)
The top HS DT in the Country
Ara even went to visit Niehaus as his house -which Ara never did

I thought of adding Alan Page Canton Oh Central Catholic ('63 ND Frosh recruit)
But Page was a DE at ND...didn't play DT until his HOF Pro career

Bryant Young Chicago Hgts Ill Bloom also comes to mind...but he may not have been as highly rated in HS(though Young was a HS All American)

Lastly, there COULD have been Angelo Mosca Waltham Ma ('55 ND Frosh recruit0
a Wigwam Wiseman 1st team HS AA( top11 players in Country)
but Mosca got booted out out of ND...transferred to Wyoming, and got booted out of there too.

Mosca became one of the greatest players in Canadian Football history.....member of the CFL HOF & played in 9 Gray Cups
Still considered the dirtiest player in CFL History

Mosca went into Pro Wrestling after retiring

Art Donovan NFL HOF DT (ND Frosh 1943) also comes to mind as a 'could have been' -but Art transferred from ND to Boston College after serving in the Marines in WWII

Absolutely mind boggling depth of ND lore.
You, sir, are a National Treasure.

The two year high school DL recruiting could be program changing if ND closes out this class as they're hoping to... Something like

Defensive End

Rodney Dunham
Ebenezer Ewetade
Abraham Sesay
Aidan O'Neil
Jackson Vaughn

Defensive Tackle

Elijah Golden
Tiki Hola
David Folorunsho
Brayden Parks and / or Marcus Fakatou

Genuinely elite combination of talent, upside, diversity of skill sets, body types and complimentary play styles.

There's 6 pros in that group, minimum. Program elevating unit, with the perfect mentor to develop them.

Strap in and enjoy the ride fellas.

The elite recruiting continues, I knew when we hired Freeman he said he was going to emphasize recruiting but I never thought in a million years we would be pulling shit off like this. Unreal
Not that it takes away from what ND is doing one bit, but A&M’s class could end up being absolutely historic this year.

There might've been close to ten DT signees in the 90s rated higher, but most of them struggled. I believe ND signed Football News's entire First-Team All-America Defensive Line twice.

Derek Landri was the #1 player in the country. Oliver Gibson was DPOY as a LB before moving to DE at ND at DT in the NFL. ND really played four DTs at the same time in Bryant Young, Jim Flanigan, Brian Hamilton, and Gibson. The last two lined up outside, but they were DTs anywhere else.

Huge pickup quite literally. The future of the DL is looking promising. Golden and Burgess at DT will be elite for the next 3-4 years with Dunham and Ebenzer on the edges. I hope this is how the DL class finishes up for 2027.
DE- O’Neil
DT-Folorunsho
Edge-Vaughn
Edge- Sesay
DE/DT- FAKATOU
I still hope we push for parks.
What ever happened to Chris Whitehead or Karlos May? He was high on us but haven’t heard much lately. Some guys I’d look at later on

Welcome to ND ☘️ huge pick up for the Irish.

Kudos to Coach Wash for making him a priority, even more kudos to Coach Partridge for picking up where coach Wash left off.
