Since 2005 both The Cubs and White Sox have won as many WS titles as the Yankees have. Just saying…

The Cubs have had 12 winning seasons and eight playoff appearances with 3 NLCS appearances since 2005. The Sox have had 6 winning seasons and 4 playoff appearances with 1 ALCS appearance. Just saying….

I can’t stand the Yankees, but can admit they are the gold standard in baseball and one of the greatest franchises in sports history to go along with the Celtics, Lakers, and Canadians. Comparing the Yankees to the Cubs and Sox is not a winning argument.

You’re kind of making point although the Yanks last ring is more recent than the White Sox.

Was just throwing a little friendly jab at our Yankee buddies out there…

The Illinois General Assembly has passed the "megaprojects" Bill that is essentially the deal to keep the Bears in Illinois. It moves to the Senate, where it will almost assuredly pass, and the Governor has all but confirmed he will sign it.

I'll be interested to see what direction they go tonight in the draft. I think they're late enough that they take best available at position of need, but would love for them to be aggressive and trade up if a good edge rusher continues to fall.

I want a left tackle. I don't know if anyone is going to fall to them where they're picking. I don't think terribly highly of this draft overall. If they want to trade up to get someone I'd be all for it. LT, DT, EDGE. Whatever.

I have been leaning toward LT for a few weeks now, though.

I don't hate the idea of protecting our future at QB, but defensively we were so swiss cheese at times. I'm too old and remember the glory days of a tough physical defense in Chicago.

That's where I'm torn. DT and Edge are definitely needs. I don't think they can really snag a left tackle after the first round. And at 25, they may not even be able to get one there.

I'm curious to see what they do.

The defense seemed slow whenever it mattered most. Slow DBs with bad coverage skills, linebackers that couldn't get to a corner, and a DL that couldn't get pressure...I never thought the issue was lack of physicality. If anything, there was too much of it without any balance with the speed needed the way the game is played now.

I think that is the general consensus, and something that Dennis Allen is looking to figure out how to fix.

They had their pick of the safety and DT from Clemson so obviously Oregon kid was higher on the board.. gotta get some help up front tonight

He and Bryant paired together at safety gives Allen a lot of options. I wasn't sure if they were going to keep both second round picks, but now I think they will.

All I can think of when I hear Dillion Thieneman. Seen him 4 or 5 times while he was at Purdue and wasn't impressed. Decent player, but nothing screamed first round pick.

The 40 time simulcast they did with Thieneman against Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown, and Justin Jefferson... that's a yo

I just remember him lining up 30 yards from LOS and flying into the screen randomly.

With this being said, He needs to work on his discipline because his biggest issue is over pursuit. Super fast, super athletic, but he needs to be more aware of where he is and what he's doing or they'll burn him in the NFL.

They absolutely have to go to DT in the 2nd round. It is imperative to actually hit here. OL, DE, LB, WR secondary
They pick at 57 and 60 in round two. Who at DT is going to be there? Who do you have in mind?

I will be mad if they trade the #57 pick. I demand that a Bears player be the one to get the lifetime supply of ketchup from Heinz so he has to answer stupid grabowski questions about if he's putting it on hot dogs.

At 57 and 60, they could be looking at Dennis Sutton and Orange for EDGE and DT respectively.

I would not be surprised if they bypass both positions and go with best available regardless of position.

One of the worst drafts so far the Oregon DB I don’t get the hype guy will be bagging groceries in 4 years. Absolutely horrendous

Ben Johnson clearly has more pull in the draft room than I had thought.

Having said that, this draft seems quite mediocre... so if he has strong feelings about any of these offensive players, I'm OK going in that direction rather than just getting a warm body at a position of need.
