Have a hard time seeing them in the Top 16 unless they win the ACC tournament, and even that might not be enough.
They (Charley Creme )were projecting us as a five seed before the game today. Creme is to the women’s game what Lunardi is to the men’s.

If the team keeps playing like this, I see them in the sweet 16 and if it goes real well the Elite 8

Watched the end of the game. Notre Dame had a great shot to win. BUT ... (and I hate to gripe in a close loss, but I can't help the following observation): ND was down by two points with about 50+ seconds left and the ball. Hannah had been REAL hot. We have time out in order to plan this final minute. No commentator said it (I think that they chickened out on saying anything "not nice"), but this was the classic two-for-one situation. Get a shot within the first, say, 15 seconds, and even if you miss and they get the rebound (worse case scenario) you have extended the game and your chances. Instead Ivey tells Hannah to dribble out as much of the shot clock as possible shortening the game. We miss but get the ball again. Ivey STILL has Hannah dribbling out the clock, leaving us with a Climax Win or Lose situation. Neither of our last two "planned" shots have Hannah taking them (the first dribbling act goes to Bransford; second dribbling act goes to a Prosper shot -- Hannah gets a desperation 3 scramble heave in the midst of the chaos.)

Watching that clock wasting crap go on, I was shouting "Moron! MORON!!" at the bench. Yeh, we COULD have made the one shot planned for, but WHY NOT GET MORE PLANNED Possessions and extend the chances?

Muffet was there to comment after the game. She quietly held her comments to NDs 3rd quarter rally and the good play of Duke.

to paraphrase Michael Corleone from the Godfather Part 3:
Ivey says
"Just when I think I have finally figured it out, the stupid pulls me back in"

Ivey has done a great job of turning the team around. I thought the game plan was solid against Duke. Certainly, the late game management could have been better, but I'm impressed with the finish to the season and the fact we had a chance to win the game playing our third game in three days with the roster numbers. As a side note, it was really great to hear Coach McGraw share her acumen during halftime. She gave the blueprint on how to beat the hard hedge in a matter of seconds. We were lucky to have her.

Ohio State is tough team. A second team AA + another All-B1G guard + a 6'6" center who is the equal of UCLA's Betts when it comes to shot-blocking. One can imagine Hannah messing up the AA, and Cass making it tough on the All-B1G, but dealing with the 6'6"??? Can we just run away from her and make shots elsewhere than the paint?

Only a 7.5 point favorite against Fairfield, and based on what OMM is saying, that sounds like am absolutely horrible match up, especially on the road.

Well, it's asking a lot from Hannah, but if she really messes with the AAs game (ex. the "don't dribble near Hannah" Rule that most teams have, who can say how much that screws up the whole team's offensive normal rhythm? ... but again: asking a lot.

HH quadruple double watch going into the 4Q (never has happened before in the women’s tournament).

4 more assists will be tough.

Opened at 7.5, closed at 12.5. Maybe i should start betting on WBB. Linesmakers don't appear to have a good handle on things.

We played a nice game vs Fairfield, but they have no inside presence at all. We actually could occasionally lob it to our interior players --- kind of unheard of this season. OSU is going to be a different problem. Doesn't mean we can't win, but a LOT harder.

Win by double digits on their home court to get to the sweet.16. It's too bad Ivey sucks.

the great thing about this victory was that several players made multiple buckets but Hannah looked like the national POY with her performance against a solid OSU squad

Very good win.
Damn what UCON is doing to Syracuse ought to be illegal; they need some kind of ten run thing in the NCAA like they do in little league

It's crazy how disrespected Hannah is right now. She didn't even make 1st team All American. She's had a historic year. It's unbelievable.

Great game by the ladies. Ivey really has done a great job molding this unit into what it is. We have a good chance to beat Vanderbilt, unfortunately, UCONN will be the team we face in the Elite Eight if we somehow pull of another upset.

Nice game by Hannah of course. What impressed me more (given watching this team all year) was how much the "supporting personnel" has gotten to a place where they are solidly good (example Cass and de Jesus) to relatively calm and competent in their roles (example Moore and Cowles) --> they can actually settle down and make open shots (which they couldn't earlier.)

Our early season incompetence was largely because of two flaws: no one other than Hannah could be counted upon to make even an open shot. Now any of them might score. The other thing was that Moore and Cowles used to look like utter wastes on defense, but now they are actually trying to play those roles.

Translation: We used to be Hannah and Cass and a little ball-handling help from de Jesus AND NOTHING ELSE, and now the five on court look like a basketball team containing 1 superstar and a second exceptional teammate. That's just enough to beat teams up until you get to about number 6 or so in the country. ... or a competent team with a really good Big.
