Yeah sureSo if BYU loses by 10 and they drop, Bama also has to drop if they lose by a similar amount?
Right?

Yep.So if BYU loses by 10 and they drop, Bama also has to drop if they lose by a similar amount?

I've been secretly afraid of this.Don't be surprised if the BIG12 officials are very pro BYU on Saturday... The BIG12 would love to have two teams in the Playoff.
The committee isn't exactly making logical decisions here.Yep.
The committee can't have it both ways. It would make no sense to drop an 11-2 team out for losing to a top 5 team, and then keep a 10-3 team the same after they also lost to a top 5 team.
The problem is you say “you can’t” because it defies logic. The man just got on tv and said with a straight face that Alabama’s win against a 5-7 team that ended in a turnover at the 20 with 1 min left was impressive. And it just shows the absolute sec biasHere's the problem and why ND is likely getting in should Georgia beat Bama and Tech beat BYU.
The committee can't have it both ways. Either they stick by their "don't punish conference title losers" logic, which in that case, BYU stays ahead of Miami, or they throw that out the window and Alabama falls behind us for having 3 losses.
You can't punish 1 team (BYU) by booting them for losing the CCG to a top 5 team and then not punish another (Bama) for doing the same.

Why not? The chair just said that Bama needing a 4th and whatever to beat an awful Auburn team was "gutsy." It's an SEC protection racket. Here's the problem and why ND is likely getting in should Georgia beat Bama and Tech beat BYU.

So thats an actual quote?CFP chair Hunter Yurachek, asked if a team outside of the current projected 12-team bracket can get into the field without playing this weekend: "Yes."
CFP chair Hunter Yurachek: "We're not comparing Notre Dame and Miami side-by-side." Says the grouping has mostly been Alabama, Notre Dame, BYU and Miami, so that one H2H result is one of multiple factors at play.
They’re going to do this thing. They’re just waiting til the last possible second to keep clicks and engagement up as much as possible. This sport is broken beyond fixing
Yes those were both taken from Nichole Auerbach’s Twitter, I just didn’t know how to copy the tweetSo thats an actual quote?
That’s the first thing I’ve seen that’s concerned me. I assumed judging them in the same grouping & keeping us ahead was solid.. this “side by side” is a new term & yea absolutely sets us up to be fucked.
But can they drop BYU for losing & not drop Bama for losing?
Some people also said we were overreacting when we were mad about OU beating Bama when a loss would've eliminated OU.I think a few people said this would happen and were told they were crazy. 🤪
If we somehow miss the playoff the only bowl I want or care about is a rematch against Miami. Don’t care where. Don’t care when.
Allow me to answer your question with a question: why didn’t they just put Alabama ahead of ND last week, before Bama looked bad against Auburn? My answer is this: the committee has an agenda which they hope will play out through game play, but in the event it doesn’t they simply move the pieces around and put some redneck chucklehead on TV to gloss it over. The committee prefers the SEC to ND and ND to Miami. But, it’s now at a point that they will simply be forced to put Miami in, so they arrange the pieces to make it appear as though it happened on the field.Try to explain your thesis though. Why wouldn’t Miami be above us NOW if that was the case?
The committee has already compared us in the same grouping. We dropped below Bama bc of A&M losing & they enjoyed the Iron Bowl.
But ask yourself why Miami is still below us AND BYU..
This is exactly where my head is at. It's about ACC protection, not SEC protection. All the ACC had to do was have a reasonable tiebreaker and none of this would be an issue.Generally speaking, I don’t think the committee has any sincere belief that Miami should jump ND.
However, if BYU loses and Duke wins, the committee would be faced with the possibility that the ACC could be left out entirely. It’s possible at that point that they suddenly have a revelation that H2H should be weighed more. Miami could sneak in because the CFP committee wouldn’t want to deal with the hell that would be raised.
If Texas Tech and Bama wins there may be a little shuffling at the top of the order but has nothing to do with Notre Dame everything should stay put for ND at 10Based on the idiotic quotes and logic I think this is the current situation; If TT and Bama wins Miami is in, ND is out. If BYU wins, both are out. If TT and UGA win, ND is 9 and Bama is 10
